cute walking shoes

I want to buy some comfortable walking shoes but really HATE the look of tennis shoes. ANy suggestions? I will be on a short trip but will be walking ALOT and want to be comfortable but don't want to ruin the look of all my cute outfits with tennis shoes! I got some sketchers last year that were slip on with multi color and they are pretty cute (although colorful) but did not fit right and kept popping off my heel so were NOT comfortable. So don't suggest those LOL

I haven't had them for some time, but SAS used to make a lace up show that was both cute and comfy. They came in white, beige, black and maybe more colors. They were very soft leather. Shaped a little like a basic Ked, but much "classier" IMHO. And they were very difficult to wear out. You might check their website. I know my favorite local shoe store had them for years, and they sold very quickly.

SAS is a brand of shoes. It stands for San Antonio Shoes, but the're called "SAS" (pronounced as "sass").

Ryka or Bass shoes are nice.

I found some cute, very comfortable and cheap walking shoes at Walmart by Danskin.

How much are you willing to spend? Many companies make cute walking shoes, but the better ones are $100 or more. Comfort has a price.

What is important about walking shoes is the support they give your feet and esp. your arches.Not at all how they look.You need to wear a shoe designed to support your feet in proper position when they are getting a lot of wear and tear. Buy incorrect shoes to walk or run in and you WILL pay the price later.

@dennylilly GOwalks - cute, good to your feet, comfy, soft, affordable, many colors & styles. You can't go wrong, they will treat you right. And they do not ruin the look of your outfit. I wear these with skorts, capri leggings and they look very cute. Trust me, if they didn't look cute, I certainly wouldn't be wearing them because I am not a 'sneakers' girl either although a great pr of snow white keds with laces look very cute too. I do this too.

IMO, Skechers GoWalks don't have enough support for walking, but they're OK for casual wear, running errands, etc.

I LOVE Issac Mizarahi's moccasins especially for when we"re planning on doing a lot of walking. With the array of styles and colors I'm sure you can find something you like. Needs no break in time, they're like wearing slippers.

I love Easy Spirit, especially their slip on clogs and Naturalizer. Very comfortable and can usually get them on sale.

I'm also looking for walking shoes that are a little more stylish. I wanted to look at SAS and Naot but I wish a store carried them near me. I may have to utilize Zappos free return shipping policy. Shoes are tough to buy online.

I have this shoe which is extremely comfortable. It's an Alegria with good support and is on sale for $69, at alegriashoeshop. This is a dull silver with turquoise trim but it also comes in Bronze with oranges trim and red with white trim. You won't find a more comfortable shoe. Most of the brands mentioned above have insufficient support for serious, all-day walking and are for strictly casual wear.

These shoes are not attractive in any way. I'm sure they are comfortable, but the OP is looking for something more attractive than a sneaker and these are NOT it.

I've had very good luck with Vionic sandals for all-day walking. Granted, I don't have foot problems, but I do get back aches and the Vionics help.

@Kachina624- I love this shoe! I just came back from Austrailia/NZ and took 2 pair with me, black and red. The terrain was rugged at times, it was hot and also a lot of city walking....they held up and not one blister or bite! I have horrible feet, have had tendon transfers and need support due to flat feet and internal rotation; this is the only shoe that works for me! I don't find them ugly but look at them in the other colors; I think they are quite cute

@Stray Sounds like you have the exact same foot problems I have. I've had surgery on the tendons in my foot/ankle too, along with flat feet and of course, pronation. Alegrias are a godsend for me.

@mstyrion 1 I have to say this shoe looks a lot better on the foot than this picture would have you believe. It's appearance is sort of like the old Keds sneaker. If you're going to do a lot of walking, you need something supportive and you don't get that from loafers or sandals.

@Kachina624- Alegrias have been a godsend to me too. Cuteness goes out the window when it comes to my poor feet being comfortable. I broke my ankle to add to it all 2 years ago. I think they are really cute? I love the contrast sole....thinking about the brown, I think the sole is orange. They had some cute new sandals on AM Style today...toying with Luck Be A Lady and would have loved them for St Paddy's Day!

Personally, I have far better luck with sandals for long days of walking. If I'm doing fitness walking, I do wear my fitness walking shoes.
