Irish Show Over?

I guess some people were dying to see Shawn's Beauty Secrets but as for me, I would rather see Irish goods. I have no clue where QVC Plus is which they said would be the continuation of the Irish. I guess they have eliminated Rose of Tralee and shortened Saint Patrick's Day. Beauty rules!

I don't watch any of this, but when I checked my Tivo Guide this morning I saw that it was pretty much ALL day, since last night, up until 3pm (my time, 15 minutes ago).

There are probably tons of videos here if you wanted to see something you missed.

At the top right hand corner of the screen is a drop down that says shop QVC TV. When you click on the drop down, there is an option called watch QVC TV. Click on that, then you'll see an option for qvc plus. Click on it and you are there.

Another option, for those who wish to watch QVC Plus, is that the channel is on Roku. So, if you have a Roku, you can watch it on your TV.

The number of people who buy beauty products is greater than the number of people who buy Irish products.

Beauty products have more variety than the Irish shows.

A simple case of supply and demand.

When the programming started last night, you could click on an "All Irish products" banner running across the top of the page and see EVERYTHING QVC was selling for St Patrick's Day. I looked at all of it in 10 minutes. Nothing unusual, nothing much different than what is sold every year, just slight differences. The last 3 years, you see one 2-hr stretch of Irish goods, you've seen 'em all for the last several.

Most of the sweaters are smaller than typical US cut/fit to start with, so their L is like a M, 2X like our 1X, etc. so that's out for me (and probably quite a few). QVC brings in mostly relatively expensive sweaters for St Patrick's Day as a large share of the total merchandise percentage, and limits the sizing to 2/3 of their purchasers.

And how many Belleek bowls & bunnies, claddaghs and Connemara marble tchotchkes can people want, when they've sold it every year for many?

They used to offer at least a few unique items each year, but no more. I find it boring, and I'm part Irish and love Irish culture.

I am in Dallas and have Time Warner Cable. QVC Plus is channel 481 for me. But like others said, there are other ways to watch it.

One of the reasons I started watching the Q about 15 years ago was the Irish shows.

They used to have the decorated sets, and the musicians and dancers. It was fun.

But things change, and we must change along with it, or get left behind!

I am sure many people were either sleeping or at work so were unable to watch. Yes, you can review the items and watch a video, if available, but my experience has been that there is a big difference between the color of a swatch square vs video vs live TV. In fact if I hadn't been home today I would have never ordered one of the sweaters if I hadn't caught the live presentation because it looked completely different.

Of course when I receive it, it's still a toss up on what the true color will be in person. Biut I would have never taken the chance if I hadn't seen it presented.

I, too, miss having the 24 hour St. Patrick's Day shows. There's just something about seeing the items presented onscreen that often makes me decide to make the purchase. I love hearing the accents, and learning the stories behind the products.

We have many, many, many hours of beauty, fashion, and kitchen products. Why can't QVC give us one full day of the Irish vendors?

Some customers have a thing called a JOB and can't view the programming because they are required by their boss to be WORKING so they didn't get to see the Irish programming during the day......and it was SUPPOSED TO BE on until 9PM on QVC PLUS.....However, for some odd reason QVC shortened the St. Patrick's Day programming, which BTW provided some MUCH NEED VARIETY and in it's place what do we get MORE STALE PROGRAMMING and MORE OF THE SAME BORING Beauty Products and MORE Shawney Sue ---not what many wanted to see!!! I couldn't change the channel fast enough!!! ......Too bad, QVC might've made a sale......
