Just curious, does anyone live in a state where they do not change times. I heard there were some states that have decided not to do this anymore and they want to have the Daylight Savings Time as standard. I CAN ONLY WISH... I love more daylight. Easier to drive places when evening comes around.

AZ (and HI) remain on Standard Time year round.

I live in Arizona and we don't change times. Last thing we need in summer is another hour of sun.

ITA--longer days just make me more tired. And I live in the Southeast, so I agree with Meowingkitty. We don't need another hour of heat and humidity in the summer.

Well...that's interesting @MorningLover. So now, as I sip my coffee I'm wondering about bank terminology. Is it a savings account or a saving account? See what happens when I'm sleep deprived? Need.More.Coffee.

I wish they would leave it at DST year round. Love more daylight in the evenings. I live in the midwest though and can understand not wanting it in the very hot areas of our country.

Most of Indiana used to stay on EST but it was such a mess for those who worked in surrounding DST areas that they now go to DST. Before they did go to DST, it would get light out at 4 AM in the summer. That was awful.

I have an Emerson alarm clock I bought from the Q years ago. It is the type of clock that is supposed to automatically "re-set" itself.

But this one isn't too smart - it still functions on the old system and won't change on it's own for a few more weeks.

I change the time zone to fool it into being the correct time now.

Does anyone else still have an alarm clock like this one? It's about 10-12 years old.

I'm very glad that we don't change. I just have to remember if there are one or two hours difference from folks in other times zones when I make a call. I recently read an article stating that DST was started to conserve energy during World War I. It was discontinued and then reinstated. I always thought it had to do something with giving farmers more daylight which actually makes no sense when you think about it, LOL.

My TV changes automaticaly. I have at least 15 clocks and I have decided I am not going to change all of them this year.

i have said this numerous times on this forum so forgive me for repeating myself. we dont need to mess around with mother nature. i wish we would just stick to STANDARD TIME all year long.

The twice yearly clock switching is a pain in the neck, and having to then acclimate to the change is an even bigger one.

It'll never change. Retailers and manufacturers think they benefit from more daylight hours at times consumers are more likely to go out and shop, and hence they believe they sell more of their wares. So they lobby for it. It seems to me I read where that was a big part of the reason the fall change-over now comes earlier.

Personally, I'd kind of like to see them pick a time and stick with it at least on a trial basis. I do appreciate that certain of my gizmos change time on their own but I really dislike having to reset the others. I also don't like that my body clock is thrown out of whack for weeks...
