@ SYMBOL How to use it step by step HELP

I know how to find the @ symbol. But I am not sure HOW TO USE IT. Do I reply and put it at the end...?? the beginning???? Not sure the steps. Looks like an awesome thing to do but I cannot figure out the sequence. I want to reply to a great post and then what?

Just press the @ symbol and user names pop up. Otherwise you press @ and type in a user name.

I borrowed this answer from @tansy from yesterday.

Did I do that right. In any case love your signature statement at the end. I hope I got it right for the @. And look we can now use colors. I never saw that before. Or I just did not look. And fonts.. did not see that before either. So much fun. Made my day.

Most of the time the name doesn't pop up for me and I have to type it. When I type it, it doesn't always turn blue either. I know they go, but it's a little weird.

I've noticed @Preds that when I don't capitalize, the system will self correct it sometimes. It stills goes though.

I think if you use the reply button in the post written by the person you want to notify their name will come up (rather than using the general reply).

When I use the computer the list of names does show up. When I use our Android tablet, I too have to type them into the post. Same with my Samsung Smart TV Tizen Operating System and Browser. Some of the real long/make no sense to me nics? Ain't no way I am typing them.

@GCR18, @VanSleepy, @Preds, @cotton4me, If we don't use the default font size/color/family/etc., the "@ plus nickname" won't show up in the default blue color. It doesn't matter if we reply to their post or if they're even posting on the thread -- it's a result of our change in text (or if we don't choose it from a pop-up or we type it incorrectly).

Just as in my post, now, your notification is active (you can tell it is active, because if you click on your nickname in my post you'll be redirected to your activity page). But, since I customized the text here it's not in blue.

The pop-up list of names is taken from those who have posted on the thread... but it's not a complete list. The easiest way to see the nickname you want, so you can click/tap on it from the pop-up, is to click/tap the word "Reply" on that particular poster's post.

Also, just as a sidebar... nicknames which contain a space are very tricky. Usually, unless we can select them from the pop-up list, they don't work properly. You'll notice the moderators use a hyphen or an underscore instead of spaces in their name... they've explained it's because of this glitch on the forums.

I wanted to add: some of the Android devices (not all) don't offer the pop-up list of name choices.

There's a thread in the "Customer Care" forum addressing this, and it might be helpful for anyone experiencing this problem to add a comment to that thread and let the support team know specifically which Android device you use.

(another sidebar: When we don't use the default text size/color/etc., we also don't see active links show up in the default blue color. I usually edit them with a color so they'll stand out.)
