The "good old days" were only great because tv shopping was new. There were many women who were housewives whose children were grown so that was their target audience as they were home all day. There were so many not practical items that appealed to that demographic who liked crafts (to fill their time), collectibles and decorating things. Now people don't reallly collect things, don't have time for crafts and are more minimalist. There were so many really junky items that did not work (first steam cleaner, gadgets for scrubbing,etc.). Most shopped locally and tv shopping was exciting with the urgency to order while product aired and waiting for packages was thrilling. I prefer the way things are now where products are more useful and actually work!

I remember when you had to purchase the item as it was being presented. If you didn't order during that short time slot you couldn't get the item. In a way it was good because I didn't watch often so I did miss a lot but saved money!!!!!! While I did enjoy the doll and craft shows, there isn't any market for collectibles, at least not now. I can understand the Q bringing in fresh items and dropping some. However, I find the shows now to be stale and in need of some more variety. After awhile many of the products are repeated and repeated. I don't watch too much unless it is a show I am really interested in. But I would like to see some new shows and less of some of the current ones. Just my opinion.
