Amazon Pricing Reminder

I love Amazon. I have Amazon Prime and love it. BUT, as a reminder,

Amazon prices can be higher, MUCH higher than other places.

I went to Amazon to get a product I need and their price was $23.00, so I checked at BB&B and it is 9.99 and Target is 10.29. Our Nespresso pods are double the cost on Amazon and they aren't cheap so double the cost works out to a lot.

I've found these much higher prices to be the exception but it still pays to compare with other retailers. This public service announcement is over.

Lots of the Nespresso pods on Ebay with free shipping. Depends on the package amount you buy, but I saw pricing from below $10.00 to $91.00.

I love Amazon but they never have free shipping.

It does always pay to shop around. I was wanting to order a set of brush markers that I use in my coloring books. The Amazon price was $23. The B&N price was $9.98.

Thank you. I never think about Ebay. Going there now to check out the pods there.

A poster in the Beauty Forum posted she purchased a YBF eyebrow pencil that sold for $32 on Amazon. Others purchased the same thing on HSN for $10.

I don't think anyone ever claimed that Amazon always has the lowest price on everything, and yes, it does pay to shop around.

I know that I have found lower prices on Ebay.

And speaking of Amazon.....I see where they have opened a fulfillment center in my area. Thus, some of my purchases are now being delivered by Amazon's own delivery service. I was apprehensive when I first saw that method of shipment when I checked on a recent order. However, it worked out very well. The driver told me that I'll see more of Amazon's delivery and less of all the other carriers.

I find Amazon prices are often higher. I am not a Prime member but do use them because of convenience. I was looking for a special shampoo that was $10 on Amazon - before I ordered I looked on Drugstore.com and it was only $3.50. It pays to check.

It always pays to check around.

We recently purchased a Blu-Ray DVD player and HDMI cable from Walmart. We paid just under $98.00. Came home and started to look around for the exact model. The price was higher at Best Buy and Target. Then I checked Amazon. The price for the exact same model plus the cable was almost $25.00 cheaper than Walmart. We ordered Sunday, got it yesterday and I returned everything to WM yesterday for a full refund.

There is a guy who was on TV this morning named Matt Granite. He gives codes for "deal" and shows how to enter the code on the Amazon site.

If one googles The Deal Guy, he gives the codes and explains the product. This morning a camera lens was available for $11.00. (Reg. $36.00) Better picture and no "black corners" for Panoramic pictures.

Most of my online shopping comes from amazon but, of course I shop around first. However, I know the majority of my dog's stuff is alwyas the cheapest on Amazon so I don't bother shopping around on those items. But the rest, yeah, I always shop around but Amazon is the lowest 95% of the time.

I only buy my Nespresso pods from Nespresso or get it at my local Macy's.

I shop around and always consider the shipping as well. What I like about Amazon is the speed of the delivery, the free shipping, the great customer service and their willingness to help the customer against any and all problems from their independent vendors. AND I MIGHT ADD I ALWAYS READ THEIR PRODUCT REVIEWS EVEN BEFORE I BUY ANYTHING ANYWHERE INCLUDING QVC.

Prices on the same product on Amazon can be vastly different from the item that sells for $2+ with $30 shipping to it selling for $25+ prime. I've seen dozens of listings for an item within a couple of dollars with one listed at over $1,000.

One has to actually shop and price compare all items on Amazon to find the listing that works best for them. I have found, however, that is nearly even case the item I bought through prime is never more than a dollar or two over the best price plus shipping, standard shipping being 5-7 days.

For the things I buy (everyone's different), Amazon is cheaper 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, the price is the same/almost the same as elsewhere, or maybe $10-15 more. I weigh the convenience factor in too.

I always price shop but usually find Amazon is the cheaper one even out of Walmart.

I recently purchased a quick printer..I needed one RIGHT NOW lol..and didn't want to spend a lot of bucks for what i needed it for...It was $59 in Walmart...Amazon had it for $45..they price matched for me..otherwise I would of just purchased it on Amazon but it was Friday Night and I needed a working printer for the weekend.

Price compare no matter where/what!

I love Amazon mostly because whenever there's been some really obscure item I needed that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else (replacement batteries for older electronics, or older CD's, for instance) I've ALWAYS found it through Amazon, and for a very low price. I also love that I only have to give my CC info to them and not to a lot of other companies I don't know. I may be an Amazonaholic!

I love Amazon. I always compare prices, but Amazon is usually the cheapest for what I buy. It's easy to make returns with Amazon, and their Customer Service is the best.

I'm not a Prime member, and their shipping has become quite slow. It usually takes a week or more to receive my items. I order from them so frequently, though, that I'll probably join Prime.

Forgot to mention, two Prime things I have just"found."

1) Another person can share the prime membership (I added DH so a free book could be sent to his reader)

2) Free Amazon books are available every month. For some reason, the system allowed me to DL two.

Often I will find that probiotics are less thru another source, although Amazon lists most competitive vendors (with shipping) as choices. I have returned 2 supplements and a pair of pants without any problems.

When we were out of town, I had forgotten some things and was able to have them delivered (handy). These are ideas as to how the program might be of use to someone else.
