Do you know anyone who Regrets Marrying Young?

Like before 25? I bet there are people who won't bother with divorce because it will take too long and they are too old but if they had it do all over again, they would have not married their spouse.

I know 4 couples who were married right after highschool graduation and are still together and seem quite happy, although I never asked them if they would do it all over again. I married at 23 and am still with the same guy and most definitly would do it again. My cousin was married at 21 and is still with her hubby, but I doubt if she would marry that young again.

I think a lot of them do. The major reason for divorce is lack of finances. When you are quite young....just out of school. It's rough financially. You're stuck in an apartment, paying higher & higher rent. You can't save for a down payment on a house. Many kids just out of college end up living with their parents. Often dragging a spouse along. Then kids start coming. Pushing you back yet again from saving for a hourse down payment. You also are paying back student loans, etc. It's not fun now. Easier if you strike it out alone or at least with no kids right away.

We'd both just graduated from college; he was 22 and I was 20. We'll be married 45 years in June. I supported us through medical school, internship and residency. No regrets whatsoever.

People who marry fresh out of high school grow up together, but it has its challenges. I know a few women who married young ..... and clearly wouldn't do it again. They never got to grow into independent adults and make their own decisions.

I was 20 when I married, DH was 24. We're celebrating 35 years on Saturday.

My only regret was that we didn't get married two weeks before (on St. Valentine's day).

I was 21 and husband was 22. Celebrating 34 happy years in Sept. For us it worked. I really can't believe we made such a life decision so young. I hit the jackpot for sure.

Got married right out of high school. Was divorced a couple years later. I then was single for the next 18 years & loved every moment of it. In fact, I was totally comfortable with the fact I would be single the rest of my life. Then, I met my DH for the past 24 years & as a result; our beautiful 20 yr old son. I married later, some would consider me a cougar. DH is 17 years younger than me. Didn't know whether I should sign his birth certificate or our marriage license...lol!

My grandparents all married young because the war was going on. Both sets have been married over 68 years.

My parents were married when Dad was 22 and mom was 19 and still together. They've always been a great team.

My husband was 23 and I was 20. He knew he would be getting orders soon so we married right after he graduated. I don't regret it for a moment. We delayed having kids until his career was more settled until it became apparent it would never be. lol

I think there are many who married someone who regret the notion. Didn't matter if they were young or not. I know my parents regretted being married to one another but they wouldn't divorce. How awful.

I divorced my first mate and remarried again - my husband of almost 34 years. No regrets and I was young both times.

Met my husband when I was 17 and he was 19. Married three years later. We've been together for over 40 years and have been married for 37.

I started seeing my husband when I was 15. When we got married, I was 19 and he was 20. We will be married 43 years in a few months. I don't regret marrying young at all.

Are you nuts? I've been married since my early 20s and it's 40 years later. I know LOTS of people who have been happily married for a long time and married at an early age.
