Massage Envy

My husband has been complaining about having a stiff neck for about a month now. He said he would like to get a massage and see if that helps. This would be a one time massage for him. I think this would be his second one ever. Now, Mario Tricoci has massages also. Would like to know what place would do the best for him. Thanks.

I would ask around to friends and coworkers to see if they recommend anyone who works independently and inquire about their training. I have a massage therapist who works on my employees (actors) for free in exchange for tickets to my theatre. He's been doing this for me for over 10 years, and does specialities like Thai massage (he trained in Thailand for years) among others. Recently, one of my employees hurt his back, and a coworker of mine insisted on taking him to her lady at Massage Envy. He said it was awful, so I called my guy to work on him after that Massage Envy appointment. He was so much happier with my guy. He said that Massage Envy was like getting a massage from your significant other. So, ask around. Maybe try asking your Facebook friends to start.

My husband had a stiff neck-seems it was related to his back-went to physical therapy.

I would never go to a massage therapist or chiropractor first if I had a problem, sometimes they do more harm than good. I think massages can be very relaxing if you don't have problems to begin with.

I had a massage at Massage Envy last year and the massge therapist was great! However, once I got there, I realized they are trying to see you a membership package. They'll give you the sales pitch. If you don't purchase the package, your next massage cost a good bit more than your first one. I recommend finding a licensed therapist at a spa or has his/her own business. The pricing will be consistent on future visits without the pressure of the sales pitch. Hope your husband gets relief!

After working extensively with professional dancers and actors for 20 years, I have formed some tight relationships with chiropractors and doctors. It's at a point where I can text my doctor and get a prescription called in for almost anything at this point. Anyway, both my doctor and chiropractor always recommend that I take people with sore backs or necks to my massage therapist before consuling either of them or a specialist/orthopedist. So, while in theory it may seem prudent to visit a specialist first, I've always had specialists tell me the opposite.

@blackhole99 - you're so right - The last time I went to my regular chiropractor (who I had gone to for years) he cracked my neck (which was fine when I went in) - and I could not move my neck at all to the left - had to go for a massage several times to loosen it up. No more chiropractor!

If u dont want to spend the money on massages, QVC offers the massager from Homedics. I carry so much stress in neck and upper back and this product really works!!!!. It feels like you are having a regular massage from someone. I love it.
