Florida Jewelry Store's Strange "Gift With Purchase"

When l heard this story l said to myself, "What the heck??": A jewelry store in Florida is running a Christmas promotion. If you buy certain items--including a diamond ring-- for your special lady, they'll give you a free shotgun. This brings new meaning to the phrase "shotgun wedding." LOL.

This is a year round promotion at several jewelry stores here in Arkansas. There are many billboards on the highways and local tv commercials advertising this. I like the "She'd better like the ring...or else" sentiment that is conveyed.

This is the third consecutive year this jewelry store has offered this promotion. It has run out of shotguns and had to order more.

Promotions such as this are not unusual in NC with even car dealers offering a variety of rifles with a car purchase. Rifles and shotguns are also popular raffle items.

States and cities with strict gun laws have the most crime. See Harvard and CDC gun studies. It's also why virtually every mass shooting is in a gun-free zone.
