Strange December weather

It is thundering and lightning here in Indiana - strong storms possible this evening. Not complaining - better than snow! Love storms!

Yes, at least you don't have to shovel it! It's 70 degrees here in NE Ohio today (record breaking). I saw that the cherry blossoms have started budding in Washington DC. Hope my daffodils don't come up!

I'm probably in the minority here, but this just isn't natural. I miss my snow at Christmas.

Don't be surprised if they come up - I saw flowering trees with big buds today and the forsythia is in full bloom here! I'm loving it, my dogs are loving it - we all know what's coming eventually! Last year was such a horrible winter - we reallly do deserve this!

It's very warm here in the northeast! We may go up to 70 degrees by tomorrow.

Along with the warm temps, we're experiencing DENSE fog. ALL three Port Authority airports are experiencing flight delays and driving can be hazardous.

Anyone expecting packages, blame it on the weather, not the vendors.

We've had alot of fog here too. I'd swear more fog this month than is usual for a year.

The downside to all of this is that Lake Erie is still in the mid forties.....it normally is partially frozen by now. In January and February when it finally does get cold (it will), all that cold air blowing across the lake will be dumping piles of heavy wet snow on us.......eeek!

Same weather here in eastern Canada. Warm, rainy, no snow in sight, a green Christmas for sure! Don't worry folks, we will all be complaining about the white stuff after the first pretty snowfall😅!!! LM

It is caused by a strong El Niño this winter. The areas that are usually. Cold and snow will be mild and warmer areas like the southwest, where we winter wil be cooler and wetter. This was predicted bu the national weather service in the Fall

We've already had a little snow a couple of times, has been very cold and there's a big storm predicted for this week-end. How much we get depends on the track it takes. I hope we get a lot as I love snow and don't need to go out.

I hear it has even been much warmer than normal in Europe.

Flood watch here in Georgia with possible severe storms tonight and tomorrow. Hope Santa's Reindeers can dodge the lightning show. I earned my presents this year.

Rainy and muggy in DC with more of a warmup on the way. Personally, I dislike it. Late fall almost in its entirety was more like spring than winter and while I like spring, I like it when it's supposed to be spring. It's been very wet and intermittently warm around here and it's not remotely seasonal or festive. Personally, I'd have rather had snow than more of this mess.

Here in the south our daffodils did come up. I miss cooler temps at Christmas. My brother said it's 65 in NJ and they're ok w/that.

If you're in the minority, I'm in there with ya! I LOVE winter, I LOVE cold weather and I LOVE LOVE LOVE snow! This weather is really bumming me out.

I like thunderstorms during the summer, I can do without them now. I have 2 dogs that are terrified of thunderstorms and I've tried EVERYTHING from thundershirts and behavioral training to natural anti-anxiety supplments and on to prescription meds - nothing really helps them except the storm ending.
