Hello ladies!

I have not posted here in some time, but do come back to read over posts of those needing help with food or lymphoma treatment input, which is when I most often reply.

Well, okay. I love to read about new puppies and kitties, too -- particularly when there has been a loss and someone opens their heart to a new little life.

My sis has a Huskie mix with a bladder issue. Bonnie (my sis) adopted Sabrina, who was born with this problem. Bonnie took her to various out-of-state universities, to see if surgery could be done. (Bonnie is a medical professional at NIH, so is naturally curious about physical dis-ease and all possible cures.)

During the past decade, my sis and her family have been putting pampers on Sabrina, cutting a hole in the right place for doggies tale.

Finally, a vet in Texas (Bonnie lives in VA) has found a surgical procedure that has been 100% effective in treating 40 canines with what I believe is a particular type of prolapsed bladder.

Sabrina is ten years old, and has been getting too many bladder infections and although still physically in good shape otherwise, probably won't remain so, without this surgery.

Bonnie has Sabrina on a waiting list for the surgery. Only issue was that the surgeons team wanted her to have a senior check-up. Her senior check-up is good, but, Sabrina needs to lose weight prior to surgery.

As some or many of you may recall, I asked for help with out Nicholas, who eventually crossed the bridge due to lymphoma.

But, for the year leading up to that time, many ladies and myself had a great, ongoing thread about food, the 2007 Merrik recall, etc.

We are now feeding our three remaining cocker spaniels Taste of the Wild. We rotate their protein varieties and are very happy to report: greatly reduced itching; muscle replacing fat; generally happier, probably due to not scratching so that they sleep soundly through the night.

Also, because of the great feeding info I learned, after reading so many good food posts, I've stopped all treats including :biscuits; anything pretending to be bacon; etc. We feed our dogs salads composed of: carrots, green beans and peas in an Olive Oil "dressing." They now are happy with a small carrot as a snack!

If anyone here has any other dry kibble suggestions (brands never included in recalls etc.) please post.

Blessings to your and your fur, finned or feathered friends!

Emy
