Isn't he amazing? Just like his mother Lillian. Both very positive, determined people who face adversity but never give up the fight. Retirement is not on their calenders.

I am humbled by the energy and stamina of both President and Mrs. Carter. Miss Lillian was quite a gal.

What wonderful news to read he is cancer free. He accepted his diagnosis with such grace and dignity. God has blessed him with qualities I strive hard to obtain.

If I ever reach his age, I would feel grateful to be as energetic as he and his wife. I know I will never have his accomplishments, though: Governor, farmer, President, diplomat, author, both non fiction and historical fiction, grandpa, father, philosopher, historian, humanitarian, etc. etc.

I agree - this is such wonderful news for him!! I was so worried - at his age and the type of cancer he had.

He is a strong man, a good man. I am glad he will be with us a while longer

I remember when he was our president - my family was so happy! My mom still turns down the thermostat and wears her sweater & slippers after he gave that speech on conserving energy.

great man - I cannot say it enough - ahead of his time - tirelessly working until the last second too as President.

Immunotherapy is the key to his recovery. - Pembrolizumab is the drug he takes.

I learned a great deal abut new Cancer fighting drugs on the PBS three part series: Cancer, Emperor of all Maladies...based on a book about the history of Cancer.

Two things: Yes, for his age, he is in great physical health-- I wonder if this is because he has always been an active man?

I saw that 3 part PBS Series a few months ago (repeat) and it was a fascinating scientific series on various kinds of cancer.

It certain;y is fascinating at the strides taken in the last twenty or so years!

there are Pharmaceuticals in competition to make new breakthroughs in treatments.
