I have a couple and I love them. One's on the night stand and the other is on a flat bar stool. I don't really get any moisture on my carpet tho, and very little white dust. Must be the water.

I just got this in today and I have never had one so I have my smart water bottle and the steam is comiing out and I have moved it around. I have it on my step stool in the bedroom facing my side of the bed well I sleep on the left side and it is getting my burber carpet damp? What to do? I understand this will keep my room not as dry but I can't have it damp in my carpet so I put a towel down under the unit and it I put the unit higher it will be on my antique Chest of drawers. WHERE DO I PUT THIS AND DOES IT GET YOUR THINGS WET? I don't see how this small amount of mist can keep my room from being dry? But it has to be better than using nothing.

I don't have this particular humidifier but I do have a small humidifier in my bedroom that I noticed was getting my carpet damp from the mist. I did put a towel under it and that seemed to work. I thought about trying to set it up higher (on top of a box or something since I didn't want to damage the wood on my dresser if it got wet). Maybe someone else will have a better idea.

the instructions say to place it on a flat surface not on a chair, or table or any where it can be knocked over or on wood. It needs to be placed on the floor.

If it is the misting humidifier that leaves white dust on everything, be careful. I had one in my bedroom, started noticing white dust everywhere, then I started coughing, eventually hacking, the white dust was getting in my lungs. I went back to a regular humidifier with a filter. It took a couple of months to clear my lungs.

What is the item number? There are a couple different t versions of this. I have the one with the long neck attachment that has a nozzle you can aim in various directions, and I don't have this problem. I keep it next to the bed and aim the mist over my face as I sleep. I don't wake up feeling wet or with wet bed clothes.

I have a couple of small cold mist humidifiers I bought from the Q years ago. I, too, have noticed the dampness on the rug (I keep them on the floor in the bedroom). My solution was to put them on a good-sized plastic tray. It's pretty, with flowers, which I bought cheaply at TJ Maxx. No further problems so far.

Maybe you have it set too high?

Can you control how much mist comes out it?

I have used the cool mist Air Innovations humidifier for several years. I placed it on the night stand beside my bed: the mist comes out and over the top of the bed.

There was was a slight dampness in the beginning but I placed a dark brown hand towel over the top of the nightstand and under the device. Problem solved. I set the mist dial at mid point so there is plenty of mist but no dampness on the towel.

I use water from the tap: it goes through the water softener as we have well water rich in minerals. No problems.

Last week the filter spring broke: ordered replacement filters and salvaged the device. ( Did not know the rinse-able filters could be replaced. )
