I am looking for a ore lit xmas, can one recommend one you are happy with, I am looking for 6 foot one and easy to assemble.

I'm doing the same. I ordered the Santa's Best tree that was a TSV last year (the 5-foot) and had to send it back. The top section wouldn't stay lit so we ended up with no tree for Christmas. I had an older, pre-lit one but couldn't be bothered by the time I'd taken down the SB one and packed it back up.

One thing I didn't like about the recent Bethlehem Lights TSV was that the size of the tree included the stand - which really meant that a five-foot tree wasn't five feet at all. I need a smaller tree, but not one that small.

I've been looking at the Balsam Hill website. They have a lot of options and have a very good reputation (and also the Good Housekeeping Seal). In the end, because I couldn't decide which was right for me, I ordered their large selection box of branch tip samples. I'll decide once I can see which I like best.

Check out Christmas Tree Market. I've ordered the 6 ft with 400 multi lights. Not here yet. Had good reviews on the site.

I bought the Santa's best pre-lit tree and put it up on veteran's day, and had it on the red white and blue setting...it looks great with all the different color options....if it fizzles out I have by end of january to return it.

That is standard in reporting tree size, including Balsam Hill trees.

Perhaps, but Bethlehem Lights didn't mention it until late in the evening of the TSV and it wasn't included in the online information. I know, because I recorded the shows and it wasn't until the host said someone had called in and asked whether the height was of the actual tree or included the stand. So at least one other customer didn't know.

Balsam Hill stated it clearly on their website. I prefer to have the information upfront and not have to dig for it. I assumed the height given was for the tree and the stand height was in addition to that.

We NEVER had anything but a live tree until last year, when I saw a tree with changeable lights n one of the BBSs, and fell hopelessly in love with it.

We actually bought TWO, a 6' one and a 5' one.

The "white" lights are referred to as "warm" white, and the colored lghts are candy colors, not the incandescent type.

I think we paid about $250 for the larger one and less than $100 for the smaller.

Can't wait to put at least one of them up this year.

2 years ago , halfway through the season our prelit tree lost all it's lights in the midsection. DH tried to fix it but could not. So last year we went in search of a new tree. Found the perfect tree at Home Depot. 9ft - because we have 10 1/2 ft ceilings, and much much more reasonably priced than any tree at QVC.

Now, normally I would have thought that a tree that was $119 was not going to be as nice as a tree that was $500 but honestly, the tree that we threw away because of the lights dying was only 3 years old and it was a $400 tree, so at least if the $119 tree gets thrown away in 3 years it wasn't such a financial hit. It appeasrs the more expensive trees are no better in quality than the cheaper ones.

We bought one at Lowes last year that is gorgeous and looks like real! Both Home Depot and Lowes had beautiful and affordable options last year, hopefully they do this year also.

I would suggest you NOT get a prelit xmas tree...............the lights don't last that long and then you are left with a beautiful tree with dead lights AND new ones you have to string............just get a tree and a few boxes of lights for it, it will save you money in the long run.................................raven

I spent at least a year trying to find a nice reasonable priced tree to replace our 15+ year old tree. We were looking for one a little taller, but a little less full at the bottom. I found the prettiest prelit tree from a place called Treetopia. The one we got is called the Cooper Fir 7 foot full 48" multi light. They have a great variety of shapes and sizes and even the upside down tree. It looks very realistic and the price are reasonable. As for putting it up and taking it down, super easy, I am 5 foot 2 and I put it together and took it down after the holidays all by myself with no help at all.

To create the smell of a real tree, I go to wally world and get their aromabead candles in kiss me under the mistletoe, cinnamon and vanilla cookie and light them all at the same time and it smells just like christmas. Hope this helps.

Balsam Hill has some of the best and most beautiful artificial pre lit trees. They are expensive but I was buying a prelit tree for couple hundred dollars every year or two from places like Target and only having to turn around and get another.

Like I said they aren't cheap but i have yet to find another tree whose lights last as long plus they are just gorgeous and full.

Sorry I can't recommend one. We had one, purchased from Target, that was prelit and it was great for two years. This year we will be stringing lights on it. 😁

I don't think you get many years from a prelit tree, before sections of the lights start to fail.

I did the same last year. Had one from SantasBest and returned it. Went to Balsam Hill and ordered one of theirs. Everyone thought it was a real tree. They are very dense and have tons of lights. But they are a bit heavy. I will have someone set it up for me this coming week.

I know this reply is late, but just took the tree out of the box and it is lovely! Needs a lot of straightening branches but really shaped and spaced well. Lights are pretty and lots of them.

We've had our artifical tree we bought at Lowes at good 15 years now. It's not prelit. We paid about hundred bucks for it and it can be set up as a 9', 7 1/2' or 6 ft. It looks great. I do the lights different each year, we have everything from old style C9 lights to mini lights in white, faceted white and multi color. I really like the easy set up and changeability of the modern prelit trees. Our tree needs every branch placed. But man I'm so glad I don't have to deal with getting a new tree because a whole section of lights quit working. Plus on our tree we can leave off the back bottom branches if we need it closer to the wall to save space.

Reading the threads and reviews here has basically cured me of my prelit tree envy.
