Do you color now with the beautiful Adult Coloring Books?

Barnes and Nobel has them and they are really beautiful patterns to color and they say it is good for stress and cognative issues. I want one and I want to color. I think it willl be good to do that instead of being on the computer all the time but I do garden in the summer flowers but with winter on the rise I am ready to try something new since I can't sew or paint.

I have been coloring for the past couple of months and enjoy it. I got a couple of books from Amazon, a couple from Barnes and Noble and Costco has Secret Garden and a few others for under $10.00 plus I have some gel pens (also from Costco for under $20.00) and some pencils.

I love coloring books with fashions. I bought one from Micheals with pretty dresses to color.

It is best to relax and color to stay off the computer and have a down time of relaxing and renewing ourself from within. It is healthy for our mind and even our body will be refreshed.

I have colored my whole life starting as a child. Some things from our childhood we should not let go, but to keep doing until we grow old. That is my plan.

I like the idea of coloring but the books and pencils don't appeal to me. I've looked at a ton of them on Amazon and they don't appeal to me.

I am keeping it old school and have a Barbie coloring book and the 120 Crayolas.

I do the adult color books online with my IPad. There are several that are free, and you color from a huge selection of shades. You enlarge the picture to tap the colors in, and the designs and pictures are intricate and beautiful. You can save them or go in and change them. Great fun.

I love coloring. My favorite book is Secret Garden. It's very relaxing. I was just on the computer way too much. I don't like the gel pens. They're temperamental!, I love the Prisma Color pencils on Amazon. They're very smooth!

I tried the coloring app, but didn't like it at all. There was nothing pretty or satisfying about it. I like to do shading on the flowers and different things so don't forget to get a blending pencil and the eraser pencil too !!!

Hi RainyDayGirl, I color on my iPad also I use the colorful app love it you can upload and also view other people's art work lot of talented and creative use of colors it give me more ideas for color combs, have fun coloring

Any ideas regarding the smoothest coloring pencils? Someone here mentioned Prisma coloring pencils. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for smooth-ness in coloring, no matter which type of coloring medium. Thank you.

Look for the Colorfy app. I have it on my Kindle but find that I really prefer the old-fashioned way of putting pen/pencil/crayon to paper.

There were a couple of other threads on this subject running for several days, until that other bad thing happened on Fri that drew attention elsewhere. A poster on one of those threads recommended the colored pencils at Barnes & Noble.

thanks so smuch for mentioning this! my daughter is a HUGE harry potter fan.....she has read the books so many times.....in english AND in spanish. i want to get her these. i see two available on amazon. one is the harry potter coloring book and the other one is the harry potter creatures coloring book.

I have some nice coloring books that I got at a local Dollar Tree store. They are made for older children, so they are not as complicated as the designs in the adult-themed books, if you would like to try some like those. They are located in the toy section, if you are interested in trying them.

They are just a dollar each, and I still think that they are fun to do.

I like to use regular Crayola crayons when I use the coloring books.

They also have nice puzzle books too, if anyone likes to do word puzzles, or even jigsaw puzzles.

Everything is a dollar, so you can't beat that for getting some nice things to do for an inexpensive price.

I like jigsaw puzzles, too. So when people tell me I'll get bored within a few months after I retire next year, I just smile & think about my coloring, my puzzles, my books, my yarn stash for knitting. Do need to find ways to incorporate some of that into some volunteer activities.
