Finally admits she was born white. Dolezal made an appearance on The Real and a portion of it can be viewed through the link.

Identifying as black is fine IMO however lying on applications for funding meant for minorities is not.

Rachel Dolezal, the former NAACP official who made national news when questions were raised about her racial identity, admits that she was born white.

In an interview with the TV show The Real, Dolezal said, however, that she still identifies as black.

"I acknowledge I was born biologically white, to white parents," Dolezal told the hosts of The Real to applause from the audience. "But I identify as black."

As we've reported, over the summer, Dolezal resigned as president of the Spokane chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, after news emerged that she had been presenting herself as being of mixed race when she was really born to white parents.

Her story sparked a national conversation about racial identity and the interview with The Real furthers that conversation. It's interesting and at times uncomfortable...

I'm trying to figure out how "I identify as black" is an answer. You can identify as anything you want, but you're not. That doesn't get be an excuse for your actions.

LOL. Personally, I think she has some identity problems that stem from something way, way back. As a teacher, I once had a 9th grade girl with blue eyes and honey brown hair who told everyone she was black. She went to great links to make it look that way, but she wasn't fooling anyone but some of her classmates who were gullible. Her parents took her to a shrink who said she had unresolved personality issues? Yah, I could have told them that and saved them the money. Actually, the only thing I find really unbelievaable about Rachel's story is that there is an NAACP chapter in Spokane. I grew up in that town. Nuff said.

I saw the photo yesterday and she did not look like she was trying to pass for black anymore. It looked like she had not been to the tanning salon in quite awhile.

I wonder if she identifies with being a Liar?

Was it ever established that she applied for and received college scholarship funds meant for black students? If so, she needs to be billed for those funds and pay it back. Just saying.....

This troubled woman has used up her fifteen minutes of fame - or rather notoriety - as far as I'm concerned. I hope to never hear from her again.

She is a crackpot. Her intentions may have been to be helpful but we know about the pavement on the road to good intentions. She obviously has mental problems.

That is one sick puppy. She like so many WANNABE's also told folks she was Native American. Then she switch to African American. I think it was all for some gain - taking from others who really are African American or Native American. Too lazy to go out and compete for scholarships or to get a job to pay her way. She needs to repay any and all money that was taken under her false and fraudulent actions.

I "identify" as a 24 year old 5'10 inch 125 lb. woman who is a member of Mensa. Ha!
