I still think Clarks is a good brand of shoe. I have had several pairs and I usually get 4-5 years out of them. I typically wear them only in fall/winter and anything that lasts more than two seasons to me is top quality. Sorry your didn't last but sounds like 7-8 years is pretty good:-)

I was just walking down the stairs in my house and the sole detached from the leather top part of my Clarks Clogs -- the accordion-style heel. I have purchased many pairs of Clarks clogs thru the years from QVC and this is the first time that it happened with this brand. The shoes are approximately 7 or 8 years old - but I haven't worn them often as I have many pairs of shoes. I will be leaving my house in a couple of hours to go to the beach area -- so I'm lucky the clogs didn't fall apart while I was out. I felt like I was about to fall down the stairs. I know there are thousands of complaints about Clarks on-line (and other brands).

I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, like so many other brands, Clark's is not made the way it used to be. I have a pair of Clark's clogs from the 70's and they are as comfortable and new-looking as the day I bought them. I wear them every single day. The quality simply isn't there anymore. It's so difficult to find quality made items as things are made overseas and there is no quality control. Also, things are made to be disposable so the consumer is forced to buy more. We need to bring manufacturing back to America. I'm sick and tired of Made in China junk while American workers can't find jobs. docsgirl

If I remember, they had a bad problem with a manufacturer approx. 7 or 8 years ago for this very reason. I lost several pair to the same problem. A couple at work. At one time Clarks assisted people when you notified them. I never followed thru on the assistance at that time so I'm not sure what they actually did. Hopefully some on here did and can advise you.

I used to swear by Clark's leather clogs and had the same style in many colors. One fall when I took them out of storage, I found the soles had rotted off all of them. I remember reading if you called Clark's they would allow you to pick out a new pair of your choice. I never got around to calling.

Scary that it happens while we are wearing them. I keep wondering how many people have fallen & been hurt when the shoes fall apart.

The problem is not only on Claarks; it is on brands that use that type of sole. I have had the problem on Clarks & also on other brands.

I put on another pair of brown Clarks clogs (accordian heel) and went with my friend to the beach area today --- and I'm safe. They didn't fall apart.
