what gift to pick: late night gifts; bow & go gifts; early morning gifts; practical presents; lets get organized gifts; sleep number gifts; early afternoon gifts; vacuum cleaner gifts; warm & cozy gifts; hosts pick gifts; last chance, selling out fast gifts; toys from the 50's for the kids gifts; don't know their size gifts . . . . .

can you fill in any that I have forgotten ?

Through all of the years I have shopped with QVC, all 20 of them, I have rarely if ever bought a gift for friends and family from a gift show. I have given Philosophy, Northern Nights down blankets. Eterna Gold earrings and necklaces, toys when the children were younger, a TSV years back that was a VHS/DVD player combo. Yes that was a long time ago. LOL So I have rarely if ever had an issue finding a gift for my friends and family.

Of course there is always the old standard - 'gifts for the gift drawer'.

I fell into a present-coma the year of the flashlight....

Literally....can't give them away.....

So needless to say I'm not a big gift-show watcher now.....

Gift shows are junk shows for the most part. However, the Q offers some decent things to give as gifts from their regular programming.

gifts for the grandkids, cooks, sports fans... and the best gift of all, poo pouri... what better way to let someone know their boo boo stinks.💩

I actually couldn't believe that product got off the ground (poo pouri)... I mean a quick shot of air freshener pretty much does the same thing. I was stunned to see a little bottle on the back on my SIL's throne....

If I'm buying a gift for the bus driver and the hosts says it's a good gift, then that's what I'll get. I wish they would say what's a good gift for the Roto-Rooter guy.

Dell is right: there are plenty of gifts on the Q and most of those I have given, I have first purchased myself and know their quality. They aren't on the "gift" shows because they are strong enough to have their own dedicated shows. For me, those have included:

Philosophy 3 in 1 Shower Gels

Honora pearl earrings

a silk blanket from Last Clicks when a niece was going away to college soon.

Northern Nights comforters

Chinese Jade (back when they sold this in special shows)

Hello Kitty jewelry (a friend is a fanatic)

Steiff, Hermann, and Annette bears (when my nieces and nephews were small)

A four-piece place setting of Lenox China (Lunchtime Specials in 2014). Huge success.

Flameless candles with a Florence Italy theme.

14 and 18K jewelry items for my sister.

an Irish drum (bodhran?)

a remote controlled tarantula (that may have been on a gift show!)

and (drum roll), from a gift show c. 2000, the perfect gift for a friend of my dad's who helped to care for him when my dad was sick with Alzheimer's.

This friend had a very ... earthy sense of humor and was the sweetest person on the face of the earth. His reaction on opening the "Pooping Moose" was to laugh so loud the echo was probably heard in Brazil.

I had filled it, to demonstrate the Moose's properties, with raisinettes.

I should have included the wonderful Polish pottery shows of yesteryear as a source for gifts. I remembered just today, when I received an email from a friend with an attached picture of a beautiful autumn flower arrangement--in a pretty U-4 pitcher I probably sent her 10 years ago

oh the suggestions on QVC of what gifts to give are ridiculous, but also so silly I sometimes get in a good laugh!! one of the dumbest was giving your child's teacher a pair of shoes..."back in the day" we used to give our teachers little thoughtful gifts and I mean little cost involved. Trinkets, or even something homemade. Certainly weren't providing their wearing apparel
