Cedar Cove tonight

Just a reminder for those who love it as much as I do that Cedar Cove will start it's season tonight at 8PM with a 2 hour special. Get your bowl of popcorn and your soda ready for a nice long show. I am going to have my bath and be in my jammies. I am even going to miss Doc Martin because it comes on at 9PM here.

Thanks for the HU! I am on vacation now ( on purpose) to enjoy my annual CIJ journey & to top it off with this...! Heat & Eat in the crockpot, Shower taken, Jammys are on. I was thinking more like Merlot & dark chocolate before supper & the popcorn. Cheers! Can't wait to see it!

I missed the first two seasons, but I'm going to watch it tonight and see if I can get interested without knowing the background of the characters.

I, too, have been looking forward to this show ever since last season's final episode. I am glad to be able to visit Cedar Cove once again.

I can't decide whether I want to live in North Vancouver, BC, Canada (where filming takes place) or Port Orchard, Washington (where the author lives and where the story is supposed to take place). I've looked online at both and each is lovely and appears charming.

That aside, being there for two whole hours tonight will be fantastic!

This is another good show!..I saw last night on my DVR it was set to record..All my fav stay set to record all yr otherwise i would forget...I love anything hallmark and wish they would get more yearly series.Love most of PBS Masterpiece shows to.I just hate that we have to wait a yr after they end to see again!

First thing i do after getting home from running errands ect is put on my Pajamas no matter what time it is!.I like comfort..The kind i wear are cotton pants and top and could easily have company when in them.Whenever my kids come over they always know i will be in my jammies.

We just finished watching it on our DVR; while both DH and I enjoy the show, we find that it can get "slow". At one point, I ended up dozing off during the show. Does anyone know who those people were at the end talking about their adopted child trying to locate them?

We were totally lost on that one.

I agree, it was rather slow in places. And who was that couple with the child who was trying to contact them? I wonder why they only stuck them in at the end? Is it supposed to build suspense? Not having seen them before doesn't set me up to care about them. I thought Hallmark (even being familiar with the mildness of their stories) would have had better writing than that.

Overall, however, it was good to see it back. I'm looking forward to the rest of this season.

I have been busy all night but just came to bed and thought i would read the forum for a bit before i watch the show....I would imagine we will find out next week who these people are...This is typical of some writers to bring someone new in at the end of a show to leave you hanging for the week and yes build suspense as you stated.Off to watch now!

Yes, I understand the technique of building suspense. I just don't think it was well done here. All they did was plop two strangers in, gave them a bit of dialogue apropos of nothing, and ask us to wait until next week.

All I'm saying is that it could have been written better. At minimum, they could have had someone greet them or introduce them to another one of the characters or something so the viewer could get an idea of how they fit into the story. There would still be the suspense about the child given up for adoption looking for them.

I believe we would care more about them if we didn't think they were just randomly strolling along but had a real connection to someone in Cedar Cove that we already knew. I just know that the way they were introduced left me cold and not caring whether they had a child, much less whether they would be back next week.

I'm sure not all of you agree, but that's how I felt about these two.

Homegirl, the husband in that couple seems to be a friend of Bob that owns the bed & breakfast and is an AA sponsor. Maybe he is also an alcoholic? I vaguely remember this story line from the books, but the stories on the TV show do not follow the story lines from the book very closely.

FWIW, you hit the nail on the head for me. I'm not saying we won't continue to watch, but the way this ended plus how slow it can get, I may not be concerned if I doze off every now and then LOL

Edit: I just went on their Facebook page and there are plenty of posts/remarks about last night's show incuding how much "jumping around" was going on. Interesting reading for those interested.

Cedar cove - be it the books or the TV series has a lot of characters and a lot of story lines. Sometimes they intertwine and sometimes not. When you buy the books - and I have read all of them - they have a list of the characters so if you need to , you can refer back to it. I have, on occasion needed to do that. Also, if you decide to read the books it is so much easier if you read them in order. The ones whose titles are an address are easy to read in order because the addresses are numbered in order. Like 1 blossom St then 232 Main St. followed by 319 Lake st . Those aren't the actual titles but you get the idea about how they are numbered so you can read them in order and follow the various stories.

I actually enjoyed reading them more than watching the tv show to be honest. Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors.
