Steelers vs patroits

Last night the NFL kicked off the 2015 season with a Steelers vs Patroits game at the patroits home stadium. And guess what - about half way into the first quarter - all the Steelers communications devices went out of commission and instead started playing some Patroits ad. Of course this did not happen to the patroits communication devices.

The Steelers lost - not because of this but more becauuse of bad decisions on Ben Roethlisber's part and a terrible terrible terrible kicker. But just wanted to note -- the cheating continues.

That one Steeler palyer said it is not unusual for this to happen at their (NE)stadium. Sure sounds suspicious to me.

I loved Michael Strahan's comment about the whole issue with the suspensions, etc. this morning. He was right spot on.

It's gossip and inuendo that ruins games and sore losers looking for a reason why their team did not win. Here is the official release and we should leave it at that:

The statement from NFL spokesman Michael Signora is below.

“In the first quarter of tonight’s game, the Pittsburgh coaches experienced interference in their headsets caused by a stadium power infrastructure issue, which was exacerbated by the inclement weather. The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. Once the power issue was addressed, the equipment functioned properly with no additional issues.”

NBC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya added on Thursday’s broadcast that the communications issue was with Pittsburgh’s coach-to-coach headsets and that New England’s headsets were shut off while the situation was being resolved. Apparently, that’s the normal procedure for such malfunctions.

The NFL provided the headsets but the hook up they were plugged in to was the stadium. oddly - the Patroits are claiming it was caused by the weather - BUT only on the Steelers side of the stadium. I guess it wasn't raining on the patroits side eh? Also - per MSN - when a rep from the NFL finally went to the patroits and said they had to turn their headsets off , it all miraculously cleared up but then as soon as the NFL rep left - it went right back on. WAY WAY WAY too suspicious.

I don't have a pony in these races, so don't care how the games turn out. But, it does seem to me that everyone's now just looking for things to go awry.

THEY MAKE ME SICK!! The whole team should be suspended from participating in the NFL for one year. They are liars and cheats. You can tell by comments from ex players that I'm sure it has been a well known fact probably for years.

I know there has been much said about the integrity of the players with off the field incidents, and I don't necessarily disagree, but this is cheating PLAYing the game. The lowest of low and a slap in the face to what NFL football (as well as all sports) means to those who play and generations who grew up watching.

look at what happened to Lance Armstrong. A sport that had the guts to stand up and do the right thing. Of course the NFL can't do anything now thanks to idiot judges.

Not a good night for Pittsburgh fans last night. DH was more interested in the Pirates' game, although he's also an avid Steeler fan. He kept flipping back and forth (we have MLB.com) . I knew things were bad when he turned football on and didn't switch back to baseball.

I started watching the Steelers game with him, then gave up. About the sound devices on the visitor's side - Oh c'mon; after all it IS Brady and company!

@Just4Me, I don't believe it was complaining about why their team didn't win as much as the shenanigans again from the Patriots. And I find it amusing when someone makes a comment on a thread and then tells everyone else, "We should leave it at that." Basically telling the posters the topic is not to be discussed and don't talk about this anymore.

Good post Reba. I find it interesting that on the first game of the NFL season they would choose to participate in such an activity. Especially since the legal matters were just recently resolved.

Although, I did laugh when they announced the Steelers side of communication was down.
