Our DIL spent Monday thru Thursday (and lots of $$) prepping her class room.

She loves teaching, but loves having the summers off more.

She teaches in Queens, but wishes she could find something closer to home on LI.

We've been in session for almost 4 weeks. We get out the first week of June. When is school out in New York?

(Sorry...I guess it's too early to be asking when school will be out!)

the end of June....maybe 2 or so days before

Here in southern WV, schools have been in session since the second week of August. Due to our severe winter, most school systems had to make up 12-19 days, which extended last year until mid June. The county my daughter teaches in, approved an earlier start for this year, in hopes of ending the school year shortly after Memorial Day. We will need a mild to moderate winter to make things work out that way.

In NYC only a few classrooms do-most don't................tomorrow will be 93 degrees......................sigh

Best wishes to all of my fellow teachers. Here in Georgia, we have been back since August 3rd. I teach first grade and in two weeks, we'll have our week long Fall break. We are on a balanced calander. God bless all educators across this great nation! Panda lady
