From our local newspaper, the Arizona Daily Star:

Jack in the Box is the latest fast-food restaurant to jump on the bacon train, but we think the funny guy with the round head may have hit on something totally wacky: bacon-flavored milkshakes.

It's only available for a limited time and you have to ask for it. It's part of Jack's new "secret menu" of temporary items.

We made a few quick phone calls and found out that Tucson-area Jack in the Box restaurants are serving up the savory sweet treats for $3.19 and $3.69.

"Some of my employees liked them, some don't. I wouldn't say it's my favorite," said Shannon Black, manager of the Jack in the Box at 22nd Street and Alvernon Way, one of more than 20 locations in Tucson.

According to Jack in the Box, a 16-ounce bacon shake delivers a whopping 773 calories, 40 grams of fat and 89 grams of carbs. But there's also 12 grams of protein.
