I'm getting a real kick out of how excited & enthusiastic the BBC team is.

I love the aquarium and the whole MB area. I visit often, and am moving to the general area next year. Just renewed my aquarium membership.

I live a couple of hours north of there, and have been there to visit, to chaperone school field trips, and so on. Once we were thrilled to see the crew of Star Trek filming at the aquarium.

My family is small, but the family I have is there. The Central Coast is heaven to me - born and raised in LA. I can't take the heat, the traffic and the cost of living down south any more :-(

I'm excited today because it was "only" 86 and it's only 80 degrees now in my living room ;-(

I watched the 5 pm broadcast, and it was in daylight. The 8 pm broadcast is the same scenes, same script/dialogue from the presenters, same words - but they are saying it live at night. Strange!

IT WAS WONDERFUL! Can't wait to see Part 2 this evening.

We are so lucky to live in the Bay Area because of all the sea life around us. There are hidden beaches that host different groups of sea mammals, some you can walk almost right up to.

When I was in high school, I chose to take a marine biology class for two consecutive summers. A bus would come to each of our north Marin doors at about 3:30 in the morning (can you imagine high school kids up that early?).

We'd then be driven out to Pt. Reyes or Bolinas or other Marin and Sonoma coast tide pools. It was fascinating.

Wasn't it though? Back in the 60s I guess school districts had money for this kind of thing. (It was an actual class for extra credit.) I feel lucky and blessed to have gone to school then. I don't think this kind of thing is available too much anymore, at least as far as I'm aware. Maybe not unless someone finds a private class or a college course.

Watching the Big Blue program brought back thoughts of wading through tide pools (very, very carefully so as not to disturb the denizens).
