I have 2 friends (A mom and then the daughter is in her 20s). The daughter is handcapped as in cant walk well but has her mental abilities. Since knowing them, they have told me (I lost count) many stories of complaining in restraunts about food, complaining about hotel rooms, tickets for shows, as well as seating.

They do this constantly everwhere (and sometimes at the same places) and get free things from doing this at all the above places. The daughter even called the handlers of a famous concert in California and said her seats were no good so she got front row seats (here, not in CA but the offices of the band were in CA).

This is what they do, they mostly use the daughter as an excuse. Such as she cant see in handicapped seating, she needs front row. The motel is handicapped accessible but its not "good enough" so they get their money back over and over. As far as the restraunts thats just complaints about food (nothing to do with the handicapped daughter) Lastly, they have actualy gotten free meet and greet tickets to see see big acts back stage (the same ones too like 5 or more times) by complaining the ticket place treated them badly on the phone. The list goes on.

Well the latest thing was, they had to wait at an airport too long and the daughter cant sit there that long. Thats not true, she sits all the time and has no pain. So now they wrote to the airline, and got a full refund and a free plane ride in the USA.

These 2 women use the disability of the daughter to get free things. I found this wrong to do this but never said a word. Untiil yesterday when I found out that they got free plane tickets and money back.

So I said "I dont want to be mean, but I cannot believe how you complain to get free food, motel rooms, tickets, etc". Well they really got mad.

Maybe its none of my business, but I have a handicapped tag for our car because I have health issues and cant walk real far. I choose to have my husband drop me off most times because I feel there are people worse off than I am that need those parking spaces. Yes thats my choice, but i would never use my problems to get free things. If I cant make it places I just dont go then. When I feel ok then I do things. Thats the way I am. I dont feel I am entitled.

So I just got sick of hearing them thinking they are "entitled" now and said something. I mean its to the point that this daughter cries if she doesnt get her own way. Isnt that wrong? My husband said good for you, what they are doing is terrible

I think I was right to say something, but now I kind of feel a little bad because I always felt sad that her daughter cant do some of the things like my children could do all their lives.

Right or wrong to have said something? And is someone entitled to more because of a disability?
