Does your appetite change during hot weather?

My appetite wanes during hot weather. Of course in summer I tend to eat lighter meals. I've noticed if I spend time outside in the heat, that even hours later, I just don't feel like eating. Anyone else?

Having just spent the hottest spring and summer I've ever experienced in the Seattle area, I found that I could not eat dinner until later in the evening when it cooled down. Heavy meals were out, and I drank lots of Iced tea. When it's in the 90's here, food just doesn't seem tempting.

Definitely the only advantages to the heat are: Smaller appetite, crave healthier foods, don't have to cook much.

yes!

Eating subway type sandwiches and chicken salad sandwiches and drinking water.

No big meals.

My appetite does wan but my DH still demands his food be on the table 3x a day. Lately though I just get so bored and tired of cooking that he has had to lighten up his expectation of what those meals are going to be. Sometimes this can lead to some tension.

i don't think my appetite changes per se, but i do eat "more summer foods" salads, etc. lighter fare and of course the fresher fruits and veggies. it's just a matter of what's more available and probably priced better!

No mine doesn't, because I am in air conditioning all the time. I am sure if I was out in the heat all the time then it would change.

Yes. I eat lots of salad in the summer time. I just don't want hot meals so much then.

My appetite doesn't change but the type foods I desire to eat does change. I just don't eat foods served really hot like soups. They turn on my internal heater and I don't need that when it's 90 degrees.

I know I eat a lot more gelato or ice cream and a lot less oatmeal and soup.

While I prefer smaller, cooler meals in the summer, it's dinner as usual for him, anytime of the year!

We grill more and have lighter sides. We also crave "winter" food so we still fix them in between. We do the same in the winter because we need a "summer" fix. The heat makes us eat less, but we still need the taste.

He DEMANDS 3 meals a day......you've got to be kidding.....I'd DEMAND that he leaves.....

My appetite definitely decreases in the summer, but I make up for it in the winter.
