Good positive thoughts towards President Carter

Former President Jimmy Carter says, "Recent liver surgery revealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body."

Carter, 90, had a "small mass" removed from his liver earlier this month. At the time, he received a prognosis for a full recovery.

Carter said he will receive treatment at Emory University in Atlanta.

this doesn't sound good for him, but I will be sending positive healing thoughts for him and his family. He is a good man.

mods - this isn't political. There have been posts for President Bush 41 and his recovery, so I would hope this can also remain civil and stay up.

I read that online also. I agree it doesn't sound good for him. However, he is 90 and nobody lives forever; we have to die of something eventually. But I wish him well, even though he was not my favorite president by a very longshot.

I wish him well. My Father was 95, still lived on his own and cooked for himself and even still drove....Last May he was diagnosed with bladder cancer....he died 4 weeks later.

I have great admiration for Jimmy Carter and what he has done since he left office.

I just saw this on the news. My thoughts go out to President Carter and hope the advancements in this type of cancer help to get him well.

Bless his heart, I also wish him well. I've always spoken well of Pres. Carter insomuch as I thought he was a kind hearted, lovely man who wanted to help people and did his whole life.

My feelings are the same as yours LuLu2. I hope that there are newer medicines to help him. this man has really done alot for people since he left office along with his wife. Best wishes for a healthy life to President Carter.

His organization in Africa is responsible for showing Africans a way to reduce Guinea Worm disease in the people there-- very low cost filtering device to use with water.

He is a man of faith and I hope that he doesn't suffer much.

I just read that and this makes me very sad. He's done so many wonderful things since leaving office. He was scheduled to do a book tour in the fall and I'm sure he'll be cancelling that to take care of himself, as he should. He was in my city last year for a civil rights summit and it was inspiring to hear to him speak about his childhood and his accomplishments throughout his life. I went to a book signing and got to say hello while he signed a copy of his last book for me and it's one of my treasures.
