CNN show "THE SEVENTIES"

is anyone watching the cnn program THE SEVENTIES?

it is so well done. they are doing a marathon of the show tonight.

i feel like i am reliving some of my childhood and teenage years right now..

tonight i watched

television gets real

battle of the sexes

terror at home and abroad

...and coming up next hour is cults and crimes.

i will have to catch up and watch some of the episodes i missed.

this series of documentaries are quite interesting.......some parts funny, some quite sad.....and lots in between. i am not sure just how many there are but i will be watching all of them.

I am, and was happy to catch the one show I'd missed, on the Women's Movement.

I never realized until I saw this series how depressing a decade the 70s was (even though I lived through it as an adult!). The violence (serial murderers), terrorism and the sad slayings at the Munich Olympics, Patty Hearst, the whole end of the Viet Nam war and all the protests, etc.

I watched The Sixties last summer on CNN and liked that series a little better, maybe because the Sicties had such a profound impact on me, and maybe because just so much happened during that decade (moon landing, all the assassinations, the British Invasion of music, "flower power", etc.). I thought there were some more upbeat and cheerful things in that series last year than this really gloomy, "downer" Seventies one. However, I really love this series as it brings back so many memories. To me it's like it happened only yesterday, while the show looks like ancient history! I think this show is very well done, and everyone should be watching it as a history lesson, esp. those too young to remember it all happening.

My husband and I have been watching this since it started and really enjoy it. I was 18-28 during the 70's so it brings back lots of memories.

I've been enjoying this series, as I enjoyed their 'The Sixties' series. Looking forward to the next episode.

I can't help but wonder if there will be a 'The Eighties'.

it is amazing how much history and information they packed into each hour! i will have to go back and watch THE SIXTIES.......and hopefully they will be doing THE EIGHTIES, THE NINETIES, and THE NEW MILLENIUM.......

i had tears in my eyes for parts of last nights episodes......including the munich olympics and jonestown.

Ruh roh. I just checked 'My Shows' and I don't have an episode for last night. Better check that out. I don't think I even realized that it was on Saturdays. Hope I didn't miss one.

I wish the graphics identifying the interviewees was larger. I just can't see it very well! Executive Producer Tom Hanks should realize that a lot of us watching this searies are baby boomers, and our eyesight isn't what it used to be! I don't know who a lot of the interviewees are because I'm too lazy to go right up to my TV set to read who they are!

@chickenbutt last night it was a marathon of the shows that had already aired.....i dont think any of them were new. i think the newest one will be about the music i believe.

didnt know there was a cnn-go.......yes, it is also on hbo-go because the series was done in conjunction with HBO.

@chickenbutt The Thursday show repeats on Saturday night. They run two back to back (one from the previous week and then that Thurday night's) - at around 7 or 8 o'clock. If you miss the Thurs. night one, you can watch it on Sat. night (unless CNN pulls it for breaking news, which has happened).

Thanks, Sunshine! My memory is getting so bad that I can't even remember what the last episode was. I see a new one coming up on Thursday, having just checked my 'to do' list. Maybe I need to re-record that last one again, as the synopsis doesn't sound very familiar.

This memory thing really sukks sometimes but then I get to watch twice as many things because I often have to watch the same thing over again. D'oh!

When I go through my 'deleted' folder I usually see one or two things of which I have absolutely no recollection of having watched. I'm the only one in the Tivos, so it was me who apparently watched and deleted them. I just re-watched two shows from my deleted folder yesterday. Did not remember a single thing from the first time. (yikes)
