Does anyone have any home remedy suggestions or over-the-counter recommendations for alleviating a severe stuffed nose from a cold? I'm trying to help my sister out who has had a nasty cold for the past 2 days and everything I suggested isn't working all that well. She hasn't slept in 2 days from the congestion. I went out and bought her some Contac Cold/Flu. This is what the pharmacist actually recommended, but it doesn't seem to be working for her. She's also used the salt/saline nasal wash and she's also tried putting Vicks all over. She's drinkng hot tea with lemon. She's tried breathing and inhaling the steam from hot water. She tried warm compresses on her nasal passages and still nothing. I know sometimes you just have ride out a bad cold, but I feel so bad that the congestion won't allow her to even lay down and rest. Any suggestions on what may have worked for you so I can pass it on to her would be appreciated! Thanks!
