topic Anger Issue . . .can you relate??? in Community Chat

How many times I have attempted to post this, but didn't want it to result in a bashfest, which is why I chose to post here, in "Among Friends". I hope you will all be (relatively) kind.

Before you all jump on me to go to a psych, I have -- 2 different ones. I realize that I will have to search for the psych who is a good fit for me, but until then, was hoping maybe some of you have experienced similar feelings and maybe have some helpful tips for me.

I am angry. "We" have sort of identified where my anger might be coming from, but doing something about it is another mountain to climb. None of the exercises or tips I have been given thus far seem to be working. I just don't know how to keep from feeling anger.

I'm talking about the kind of anger I feel mostly when people are not courteous or considerate. I'll give you a few examples. A co-worker comes into my office and helps herself to my supplies without asking. People not holding a door as they exit a building when they know someone (me) is right behind them, allowing the door to slam in my face. When crossing a street on my green light, cars not yielding to me. People coughing in my face without covering their mouths. People not saying "Excuse me" or "I'm sorry" -- you know, the simple courtesies of life. You get the idea.

But there are so many occasions of this during the course of my day, that I find myself angry too much of the time. I know it is not physically healthy for anyone to be like this. I just want to not feel this anger.

I realize this is not the ideal place to go searching for a solution, but in a way it is easier because none of you know me and can be very objective. So I'll ask . . . have any of you ever felt this way and what have you done about it to lessen your negative feelings? Thank you so much for being understanding.
