Last November I had to replace my 6-year old Dyson, which I loved, when it died. The warranty was for five years so I was out of luck. My new one, the Dyson DC 33, causes me endless frustration when I try to use the hose attachment.

Basically, I need someone to hold on to the vacuum while I use the hose because it snaps back causing the vacuum to slam into me and/or turn over. After a year of this, I took it back to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to ask for a replacement. I would not have even tried to return it at this late date, but my daughter was in BB&B recently and happened to mention my problem to the manager. He said I should absolutely bring the vacuum back and that they would be happy to replace it because it was clearly defective.

Well, they did replace it and the new one is exactly the same. After I wrestled with it last night trying to clean in my bedroom, I had had enough. My old one that died last year never did this. I am taking that sucker back tomorrow and will probably get a different brand. This vacuum s u c k s, and not in a good way.

Anyone else have a DC 33?
