Do you keep your bills in order?

Do you keep your dollar bills in order in your wallet? I do. Largest denomination down to the singles and I even have them facing the same way. Is that a little quirky or what? Am I alone on this?

You are not alone. Iam so bad about this. My bills have to all be facing the same way and smoothed out, and in complete order. Why am I like this?

My first job out of college was as a bank teller and they taught us to keep the bills in order, face up, facing the same way (easier to count quickly) so that's what I've always done. Mine are always in order.

I never knew anyone did this ....25 years into marriage I realized my husband did this....I asked him about it. I never even thought about it. Never crossed my mind.

I'm a bit of maniac about organized money.

I put the largest denomination on the outside and work my way in; but I keep the one's separate in a little folded packet. I don't know why, just always have.

I also don't keep any change in my wallet or handbag. Years ago I did the Suze Orman only pay with a bill and put the change in a jar thing and it stuck. Really is a great way to save.

That is a fact about being able to count faster when all the bills are facing up. We own a few businesses and for one of them we take in a lot of daily cash and when I make up the daily deposits I always arrange the money first and then go back and count it up..

I've never understood why the US money is all the same size and color. Makes it necessary to keep all the bills in order or it would be easy to make a mistake.
Most countries have different colors so you can tell at a glance exactly how much you have in your wallet without pulling all the bills out to look at them.

Yes I do & so does DH. I have done AR, AP, payroll & other bookkeeping most of my life & did the same with the money from sales for daily deposits.

No I dont. Since I am not out and about very often, I rarely have cash on hand. Right now I think I have $4 in my purse.

I may start out the day with the bills all lined up according to denomination but when I get home they are all jumbled up.

I rarely use cash, but, yes, I do keep bills organized--facing the same direction and grouped by denomination. It's probably something I picked up from my father--he used to iron his cash.

Yes I do. I was a bank teller many years ago and it's an old habit now....plus it looks so much neater and makes finding bills easier.

Yes, it's a thing with me. Lower denomination on top, higher on bottom. No dog eared corners if I can help it and no presidents standing on their heads.
