Is There a Gaming Forum category?

Just wondering, nothing shows up on my list of forums on the left. I understand about not wanting them to take over CC, yet I miss the games.

There is. It is located under CC. Just request that you be added and the Q will give you access.

There is a thread request around here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it for you and bump it up.

How difficult would it be for the tech crew to simply add games to the list of forums?

I don't get this either. Some posters were on vacation etc. and are not aware there are games still. Not sure why the Q has to make this a secret board.

Not at all difficult. The fact that they're restricting access and hiding it makes me think they're trying to phase it out. New people won't know it exists or how to get access to it.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to explain why the Gamers Category is only visible to members who wish to play games.

The majority of the people who visit the Community are not interested in participating in the games that are posted. However, those who participate in the games create a large volume of posts when they are playing. In the past we could keep the activity from being seen by everyone, but still keep the access to the category public. In the new forums we do not currently have the ability to "filter" posts from appearing to everyone.

In an effort to give Gamers what they want while not negatively impacting everyone else, we created a category that is only visible to those who wish to participate. All are welcome, all we need is to be notified and then you will be added to the list of members who can see these posts.

I hope this helps explain the Gamers category.

Keyai, I'm not trying to tell you how to do your job - honestly. Since this is not the first time that you've explained this in a post, do you think it would benefit you and the Community if there was a small post on the subject in the Welcome Get Started Folder.

You make a GREAT suggestion birdmama, we agree with you. We are adding more answers to frequently asked questions soon. Hopefully the post will get seen by those who are not aware of the change.

ITA a note somewhere should be on the community menu page that there is a gamers forum. Also, explain that you have to be added to a list, in order to participate.
