I am going to Las Vegas in a couple of months. I have been there before but for a friends wedding and really didn't go to any of the casinos or restaurants. We do have a couple of places we are going to be going for sure like Raos and one in the hotel we are staying at which is Wynn.

While we are not buffet people we would like to go to some of the great buffets there we have heard about so if anyone could give good suggestions on a fabulous buffet that would be great. Also any restaurant you think is really great, whether low end or high end. There are so many places, I would just like to see if I could narrow down a bit. Thanks in advance for all suggestions!

There are so, so many Irshgrl! I have to say, if you like banana creme pie, you must try Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico Steak House in the Venetian. Last time we were in Vegas we stayed at the Venetian and had dinner there the first night.

Now I am not a meat eater, but made a wonderful dinner of mashed potates, mushrooms and another vegetable I can't recall. Our party of four all tried the banana creme pie - OMG! Each night after that we would come back to the Venetian from a dinner, a show, gambling or whatever, and go to Delmonico's and get the banana creme pie to go and we would enjoy it in our rooms as a bedtime snack.

The banana creme pie was served with caramel sauce, chocolate shavings and whipped creme. I just can't say how good it was!

Have a great time and enjoy Vegas! I hope you are going when it is a bit cooler.

The Orleans is a big casino and a hotel. It's a bit off the Strip, but the prime rib dinner is the best. They have restaurants and a buffet.

The buffet at Ceasars has been voted the best buffet for a couple of years now. It's $50 per person. They have a lot of sushi if you like that. I've been to that twice, but I doubt I'll go again. There are some big restaurants in the Ceasars Forum, including Cheesecake Factory and an Italian place that serves family style. Planet Hollywood has a really good breakfast buffet and their crepes are the best.

Some of my favorites are:

Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris - french

Mesa Grill in Ceasars - southern

Bouchon Bistro in the Venetian - french breakfast brunch

Gordon Ramsay in the Paris, steak

It just never really interested me before but I am really excited. We got some tickets to some of the shows and I am excited to go to them as well as some of the restaurants. I have always heard what great dining there is there so I am looking forward to it. We are going to see Celine Dion. I like her alright but I was never a huge fan but I do think she has a wonderful voice and I am kind of excited to see her.

The best buffets are Caesars and Wynn. We usually do a late lunch as you save some money but get the full experience. Other favorites are Battistas Hole in the Wall ( LV institution, fixed price Italian and all the wine you want included) and Lotus of Siam (one of the best Thai restaurants in US). Both of these are moderately priced.

I second the Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan for a fantastic buffet. The Orleans has a variety of restaurants, The Primerib loft is great as is Canal Street for a little more elegant dining. Koji, and the seafood place are very informal, but the food is very tasty. Their buffet is only so-so but very reasonably priced. Have a great time in Vegas and enjoy the shows and all the great restaurants. You can pick up info at the airport about things to do while you are visiting "the Adult Disneyland". We have been going to Las Vegas for over 20 years, it began as business trips. After retirement we continued returning to visit friends who live there and go to shows.
