She posted instructions in "Q Talk."

Similar to "My Activity" this method allows you to find not just your "original threads" (threads you started), it also allows you to see the ones to which you responded.

The thread is titled "Search your own posts" and you'll see instructions, an illustration, and questions/answers.

Here's a copy of her original post:

"The search button has a drop down menu and users is one of them. Just type in your user name and go. It will take you to your name with information. One of that is a thought bubble with the number of posts you have. That is clickable."

@surfk, You're welcome! I wonder about a lot of things regarding the changes... they hurt themselves (and all their customers) by not having a group of regular users work with a beta-test version before implementing the changes.

@sylviahomeatlast, I hope you see @Mothertrucker's comment. Please don't give up, just take some time to look at your settings, check out the "help" feature, and ask questions.

It was the last little puzzle for me, and this works like a charm.

They could have left a page of directions, as a lot of the puzzlement involves dropdowns that appear only if you know they are there and press the correct arrow.

I was assuming, in the "Search" Forums & Blogs, for instance, that "Community" is the only choice. One has to click the little arrow to see that Category, Board, and User are categories there, too.

And there is another dropdown to find the user's posts--but there they are: Eureka!

It's less important than when the Gamer's threads were here (it was like a rogue blizzard of alphabet letters!). But still it's an alternative way to find a thread I've posted to, and very nice to have.

@catlover,

It's at the top right of every forum screen.

Look to the right of the words "View All Forum Topics | View All Blogs" above all the threads.

There's a box with very faint lettering "Search Forums & Blogs." You enter what you're looking for, use the default "Community" or other choices in the drop-down menu to the right of the search box, then click "GO."

For those using this method, I recommend setting a browser bookmark once you find the page containing all your posts (I called my bookmark "My Activity" -- original, right?). Then, you only have to do this search one time and in the future can click on your bookmark.

Does anyone know where the "quote" button is? You're supposed to see it after you hit "reply" but I don't see anything.

@Kachina624, It's just above the upper right corner of the reply box tool bar, in black and in all caps.

Above the reply box, you should see, left to right, "Rich Text, HTML, Preview, and then 'way over to the right, QUOTE.

Can you see the toolbar? What type of device are you using?

Hi All!

I've looked all through the settings and cannot find this -

Does anybody know where there is a setting so that people cannot turn your name into a link? I don't want people to be able to put an '@' in front of my name and turn it into a link. That just kind of creeps me out.

How do I preclude this?

@Hi CB. The only function of the @ feature was to notify a poster that someone had responded to them. It would go to your notification box. Easier than going through all your posts to check if someone responded or commented on something you wrote. I think it is harmless otherwise.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that you can turn this feature off.

It is moot right now anyway because the feature is not working. Brittany of the Social Team responded to me when I asked about it. She said that she would bring this to admin's attention.

I'm probably just a dinosaur but, like I mentioned elsewhere, I just really don't want a Twitter-type experience. I just want a 'board posting' experience and that's why I post on boards and haven't been interested in joining Twitter.

Yeah, I hear you. I am not a social media lover either. But I think that this feature may actually make our posting easier given the new format.
