What the heck is this all about????. It appears on the left side of your screen when you arae in the Community Chat forum.

I could care less if I ever make it to any of these lists......and I've been a good girl now for a long time.

They have a lot of work to do on this before they can ever call it a success.

Just try to think of the hearts as a thumbs-up or 'Like' button as is used on facebook. That's how I am using them here.

Hi, ShowMe! I agree. I posted the first day I wish they'd do away with those lists. I don't like seeing them. I do like the functionality of using the "heart" within a thread the same as a "like" on Facebook. It allows us to say we agree without all the quoting and extra posts saying "ITA," etc. But only within the threads. I don't like the public tote board/leaderboard nonsense.

I only like the hearts, and only because its so much simpler to let someone know you liked their post, than replying to post, "ITA". It's also more discreet, and I think that makes a thread less confrontational, since posters can get so put off when someone disagrees with them by siding with someone else. Maybe the whole thing is just an illusion.

I don't think any of us know what that means, @Karnerblue. I've seen it asked in the ongoing thread with questions to the QVC Team, but if there are answers I've missed seeing them. I don't like rating systems or popularity contests.

I totally agree; so dumb and useless clutter. More popularity contests I suppose. I disabled tags and hearts in my preferences.

I imagine it's a function of the forum software; just a means of indicating the number of posts made by the poster. Nothing special about it; just a forum generated title.

I think I read from the mods early on, that it was simply a distinction based on the number of posts. I also think it was "arbitrarily" calculated from recent activity from some random? point, and does not go "all the way back to any beginning". In a way it puts almost everyone on equal footing to an extent. Again,(poor) choice of words implies personal value judgement, where none was intended I think.

I don't like those either and have asked the question in a thread too. I got a message that I "Ranked Up" from Super Contributor to Valued Contributor, yet I have less posts than other Super Contributors. So why would I "rank up"? And what makes a Valued Contributor? No answers yet... they can do away with those designations and the "Top Hearted" lists as far as I'm concerned. I enjoy knowing that people like or agree with my posts, but it doesn't need to be listed like they do.

Well, I just discovered I can click on Notifications to get a list of those who "hearted" me.
Not cool with this. And I am listed as an "Occasional" Contributor. I spend a lot of $ on QVC. Just maybe I will become an "Occasional" Shopper. Been meaning to put the brakes on for a long time, as we have way too much stuff already. Besides, my real joy is buying stuff for my two grandchildren.

I think those lists are silly as well. Fortunately, I disabled all of those features (I think) in my preferences. It's almost like the Q is condoning/encouraging their own version of those awful "Name Your Favorite Posters" threads that pop up from time to time. Those always go sooooo well. Whether or not someone "hearts" what I have to say is of no interest or consequence to me.

There is always going to be some type of strange things on boards that most people won't use or care about. Stuff to take up space I guess. LOL I think I need to go back to school just to figure some of this stuff out. It's all Greek to me.

So hearts are used for likes to indicate agreement but where is the symbol for dislike or disagree?

Seems we are only allowed to agree and agreeing is rewarded by getting on the good poster list. Grade school.
