Note: SORT BY TOPIC START DATE/LATEST POST DATE

We have an option which allows us to choose the sort sequence of topics in a forum (among other choices).

Look at the top of the threads, to the right of "NEW MESSAGE."

The "Options" drop-down menu allows us to:

"Sort by Latest Post Date"

"Sort by Topic Start Date"

There are other options, too, but these 2 might help some of us find the threads with the most recent comments.

I only see a choice for sort by topic start date, no choice for latest post date.

I've played around with the preferences and settings, and with no guidance on the impact of choices, it's a crap shoot what you'll get. I'm the sort who likes to press buttons to see what happens, but most folks aren't. This implementation is a mess, poorly thought out. It's sad, given the notice given as to when it would occur, and even with the implementation date pushed back, they obviously didn't put much thought into the set-up and SERIOUSLY didn't even care enough to have anyone on the social/IT team available on the start up date - that's just really crazy poor IT procedure.

ETA - OK, I see it now - it's essentially a toggle choice - if you've chosen sort by topic start, then your drop down choice is sort by latest post and vice-versa.

@vac, It's in a red box just above the word "Subject" when you click on any of the forums (you won't see it while reading or posting within a thread).

Unless the "gamers" decide to start a bunch of new threads/games, the "Sort by Topic Start Date" option keeps all the recent threads on the first page. I was getting tired of trying to weed through all the game threads.

I was beginning to think they should have designated the "Community Chat" forum as the "Gamers' Community," with all a warning to all posters who want to actually have a conversation:

Sorry, but this isn't working for me. I see it is a toggle, but even when I choose "sort by latest post date," I will get a list with "yesterday" posted before "3 min ago."

I did sign in properly.

You can also increase the number of posts and threads per page. They are linear and Topic layout.
