The Good Wife- for those who watch

What are your feelings on the show this season?

This has been one of my top shows since it premiered and I think this season has been horrible. First Alicia leaves Lockhart Gardner and starts her own firm. Then she's there like 5 minutes and there's the entire episode of "no, I'm not running for State's attorney." So, we knew then of course, that she would and she did. So she won't be working at her own firm anymore.

So now, after the longest campaign in election history (I don't know about where you live, but we NEVER see a campaign, complete with debates, for a minor election like that where I live). And she won. So, I think I really don't care.

But the biggest thing is I don't think I like HER anymore. Her character. She doesn't seem to say much. Lots of short answers and just stares in reaction to what other characters say. And then her sham of a marriage to Peter. Just divorce him already and move on.

Oh- and that horrific episode a few weeks ago where we were "inside Alicia's head" for an entire hour. I thought it was wretched.

There.... I feel so much better getting that all of my chest- LOL. What are your thoughts on this season's episodes?

I quit watching about a month ago. I just lost interest for the reasons you mentioned.

I still can't get over that her hair on the show is a wig!! She revealed this when she was on Letterman recently and that the wig costs about $10,000 and there are 2 of them the stylists use. Her own hair is naturally curly.

I haven't watched since the first season but this is my mothers favorite show and she feels the exact same way you do. She is starting not to like it all and pretty much for all the reasons you just mentioned. Funny that you would start a thread on this because when my mother came over the other day she brought up this very subject and pretty much mirrored what you just said.

Well, I admit IMO the show has gotten boring this season. I liked it better when there were characters like Peter's mother on it. More personal stories.

This season if I miss an episode, I don't even go to On Demand to catch up ... that tells me something ... like I don't care what happened.

I am in the minority.... I still watch it.... I think when one of the Scott brothers died that some of the creativity left.

I have several unwatched episodes on the recorder. I'm still liking the show. I didn't know she won (that's okay, it's not a spoiler for me at all) but I think it will be interesting to see how she handles the law from the other side of the aisle. Can she do what she wants to do or will she find out, as others have before her, that putting things into action are harder once she's sworn in. Then there's how she handles the personal aspect of her former law firm and partners. She and Peter haven't divorced because it doesn't suit their ambitions at the moment. When the time is right for either of them I think papers will be served. Staying married seems to be an advantage for them for whatever reason.

Scandal is the one I've had problems with. I just deleted 7 or 8 episodes and removed it from my auto record list. It's become way too farfetched and unbelievable for me. It was good in the beginning, the first season or so, but it definitely lost me this season.

I agree totally with the OP...the show is losing my interest along with Scandal which I gave up on a long time ago.......

I've been nonplussed about the election, but them killing Will was awful .... it just hasn't been the same!

I've really hated the Michael J Fox character ..... and now Kalinda is leaving .... anyone know anything about that story line?

Thumbs down from me. If I'm working on a project of some sort, I'll watch the episodes I have recorded...or not. I had no idea she was wearing a wig though.

I've seen many interviews with her, and also photographs and red carpet appearances, and her hair is never curly. Was it curly on Letterman?

JustJazzmom, Did you have watch the TV show ER back in the 1990's? She was a nurse on the show and on that show her hair was curly.

Totally agree with the OP. I am still watching it, though. I was so hoping she was going to lose the election. They need to just get back into the courtroom every week. I can't wait until whiny Grace goes off to college and disappears like her brother lol

I binge watched up to this season several months ago. Can't stand this season. She just absolutely gets on my very last nerve. It's like she's not intelligent anymore, and really flaky. I honestly think the show needs to go, which stinks, because I really like the other characters!

I love the Good Wife, but Alicia, not so much. Her character has always been wishy washy, and not real moralistic in some instances. But I think maybe that is how she is written. I love characters like Diane, and Cary who can do conniving better than Alicia, and still be likable. Alicia has no life compass, Alicia goes where that episode takes her, then changes her mind, or is talked into something else..

What confused me was it seems her son just dropped off the face of the earth for a while.

The qwapy graduation party she had for her son. She waved good bye at the front door.? Most parents, or guardians escort their kid college, at least to check them in the dorms the first year. She worries and cares about her kids, but sort of leaves it to the Universe to take care of them. IDK. A lot of character flaws. Julianne Marqulies (sp) is fantastic at doing Alicia. IMO Alicia just isn't meant to be the most likable character.

I also love Kalinda's role, but not her active secks life. She is way too loose, and uses her body as a bribe or to get information. The way she goes at it so casually, she should have a disease, LOL! But I love her.

The show does that to Alicia as well. All her seckual encounters are quickies in the elevator, at, in the back room at a party or under a table at dinner, with people present. Good Lord!. Risky.

I hear you about Michal J Fox. He is wearing. I heard last year Kalinda had a new show. Could be rumor, but that is why she was leaving
