I've had some spices for a few years now. Do they ever go bad? They still smell normal.

Depends. Some should be tossed because they lose their intensity and sometimes they get moldy.

I've never had a spice mold. They do lose flavor over time.

I'd throw them out. Even if they don't have mold or bugs/larvae they will lose their potency.

Sage leaves can have stuff growing on them.

Yes, spices need to be kept updated.......

Just like us, they have a shelf life....... Only we don't know how long our shelf life is.....
