It was on CNN. It's on local news here in the NY/NJ area. Possible gas leak.

I think I heard the reporter say it is a 7 alarm fire....building collapse...and adjacent building on fire.

There are injuries and people are being accounted for........................

Traffic is gridlocked in lower Manhattan and hundreds of first responders are trying to get through.

The buildings at 121 and 123 Second Ave. between 7th Street and St. Marks Place were engulfed in flames after an explosion at 121, according to officials. The building at 123 has collapsed.

There is a Japanese restaurant there too according to eyewitnesses who believe there were people eating in the restaurant.

Reports of 12 injured - 3 critically - and no reports of any other missing people. For those who don't know there was plumbing and gas work being done in the building and the gas was supposed to be turned off. When a worker smelled gas they self-evacuated and the explosion then happened.
