Hi a few weeks ago, i posted about the drug screen i was doing for a new job. Wanted to let you know what happened. I asked the tech if I was suppose to tell her any medication I was taking. She said no. She took the specimen and placed it in a machine. She said the machine will do the screening and at random it will screen for more than the standard tests. She said if something came back as positive, they would contact the business and call me to ask if I need to disclose anything. Everything came back normal and I start my new job soon. .

Thanks! lucky Charm I normally am not concerned. I dont abuse drugs, I dont drink or smoke, but one of my meds was recently reclassified as a narcotic. I was worried it would cause a problem.

Thats what everyine said when I posted. I took my prescription bottle with me just in case. When I googled it, the info was all over the place. .Thankfully everyone gave me great advice. Some said I would need to disclose prior to the screening, but they didnt. I also didnt know they would process it right then and there. I thought they had to ship it to a facility.

I think most drug tests screen for PCP, alcohol, pot, MDA, heroin and a couple illegal drugs. In the old days the test was very sensitive, and even eating a lot of poppy seeds came back in the opiate range.. LOL! Then there is medicinal amounts vs over medicating. My daughter works for the Sherriff Dept and that is what they do in their tests. But you never know. Each employer is different. If a person is on parole, the tests are very specific and sensitive, they test the smallest amount of certain drugs and especially alcohol. They random check employee's regularly too.

I am so glad it all worked out. You are honest, sincere and forthright and that counts for a lot too!
