I have a dresser I'd really love to repaint with chalk paint. I saw an article in a magazine (I want to say BH or Southern Living), and a lady had refinished her mother's upright piano in a beautiful robin's egg blue chalk paint. Totally outside the box, but WOW, was that thing gorgeous!

The Home forum ladies have used chalk paint and seem to love it. I have a rocking chair that I want to paint with chalk paint. Happy Housewife used chalk paint from Home Depot and said it was easy to use. It was less expensive than the Annie Sloan chalk paint.

Yes! Many times. I've done 9 bedroom sets (headboards, dressers, bureaus and mirrors), sideboards, side chairs and tables in chalk paint.

I love it because you don't need to sand, (just clean) the surfaces.

The bedrooms sets were all older (circa early 1900's), some in veneers, some with water marks and other stains or sunlight discolorations.

All beautiful now. Beautiful colors.

Easy to work with and a little goes a long way.

My daughter did this in her very first apt and just did it on one wall. It was so cute because she is very artistic and for holidays she would get different colored chalks and go crazy. She didn't have a fireplace so at Christmas she drew a beautiful fireplace with a fire, a mantle and stockings hanging. She also drew a Christmas tree. It changed for every holiday.

Now I will say I am a horrible artist but this made her apt look so cute. I just loved it.

I will look for these pics on her FB page and try to copy over to here so I can show you what I am talking about.

It's used mostly on furniture, but I guess it could be used on walls. Would be verrry expensive. You can mix the colors or soften them with the whites.

I used Chalk paint the first time to paint an old bedroom set for my granddaughter. I didn't want to refinish because I've done enough refinishing in my life! I also wanted to stay away from all the toxic chemicals and didn't want them to 'linger' in her bedroom.

I've since furnished our 3 beach rentals with old furniture and bedroom sets I've purchased at consignment and resale shops. (They're all older homes, not modern design.)

Very colorful, very pretty, a little can will paint a lot of furniture, so easy to work with. No sanding needed for it to adhere. You can do one coat or more, use different colors to accentuate wood carvings, finials, drawer pulls (old metal), etc.

My sister has several pics on pinterest of my bedrooms and I get asked all the time if I would paint furniture. Renters leave notes asking where I purchased the furniture.

I tell people it's so easy to do, but I guess no one believes me. It is addicting.
