Any post office workers here? Really need your help!

If you are a postal clerk or someone else working in a post office in another capacity I really need your help as I think fraud has occurred. Just answer that you do work there and are willing to try and help and I will post my dilemma. Thanks so much!

One doesn't need to work at the post office to know about certified mail. I used to manage a small store that did packing and shipping. I knew anything one would need to know to mail or ship something. I also became a pro at packing. That was very helpful, too! I've packed/shipped everything from cakes to computers.

Well I hope that you got an answer to your questions. I can tell you that you can track certified mail through the USPS website. Certified means that the client needs to sign for that particular item prior to it being delivered. The postal carrier will make the attempt at the residence or business, if a signature was not obtained because the person was unavailable to sign for the item , them the item is taken back to the Post office. You may call and have the item redelivered or take your notice to the post office to get your item. The post office of delivery will normally keep it for 15 day and if it is unclaimed, it will be return to sender stamped unclaimed or attempted not known. Hope this helps you.

I have 3 members of family that work at post office, one delivers overnight mail which all has to be signed for - and he leaves prepared sticky notes on the door saying he tried to deliver, no one was home and he will try again the next day or you can pick it up at your local post office after a certain time that day. I've gotten the same little note here for certified mail and as sammyjobeagle said, if someone refuses delivery or not at home, they will only try so many times before it'll eventually come back to you as undeliverable.
