Hello my friends! Hope you all had a good Saturday! Lori was here for a chicken supper, so that's always good - Had a nice visit - Planning on going to Erma's 90th birthday party the 14th, Lori plans on bringing my cousin, Marilyn, Deil, and Sister LaDonna who will come by shuttle to the airport, and on to the party. So glad Lori doesn't mind, as she knows this is important to all. She is such a sweetheart. We are liking our new coffeemaker, and that's a blessing we don't have to send it back. And I learned there are so many good benefits in drinking coffee! It's really good for us!! What a blessing that is to know that!! Well, time to get our clocks changed again!! Got to get to Mass on time! Let us continue daily to pray for peace in our troubled world.

Listen carefully to the things you say. The advice we give

to others is often the best advice for us to follow. Lord, help

me to follow that which I know is right even when it is difficult.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

One of the scribes asked Jesus, 'Which commandment is the first of all?'
Jesus answered, "The first is, 'Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord
is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all
your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.' The second
is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other
commandment greater than these." ~Mark 12:28-31

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

The elimination of selfishness is the key to happiness and can only be
accomplished with God's help. We can start out with spark of God's spirit
but large amounts of selfishness. As we grow and come in contact with other
people, we can take one of two paths. We can become more and more selfish
and practically push out God's power and influence in our lives, or we can
become more unselfish and develop our spirituality until it becomes the most
important thing in our lives.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may grow more and more unselfish, honest, pure and loving.
I pray that I may take the right path this day and every day.

O my people, what have I done to you?
How have I hurt you? Amen.

DEVELOP THE RIGHT SELF ATTITUDE
Author Unknown

Here are 10 suggestions to help you develop and maintain a healthy
self-image. Read them slowly. Meditate on them regularly.

1. Hate your sin, but never hate yourself.

2. Be quick to repent.

3. When God gives you light, walk in it.

4. Stop saying negative things about yourself. God loves you and
it's wrong to hate what He loves. He has great plans for you, so
you're in conflict with Him when you speak negatively concerning your
future.

5. Never be afraid to admit that you've made a mistake and don't
always assume that when things go wrong, it must be 'my fault'.

6. Don't meditate excessively on what you've done, right or wrong;
both of these activities keep your mind on you! Center your thoughts
on Christ.

7. Take good care of yourself physically. Make the best of what God
gave you to work with, but don't be obsessed with your appearance.

8. Never stop learning but don't allow your education to become a
point of pride. God doesn't use you because of what's in your head: He
uses you because of what's in your heart.

9. Realize that your talents are a gift, not something you have
manufactured yourself; never look down on people who can't do what
you do.

10. Don't despise your weaknesses they keep you dependent on God.

How To Carry Your Burden

A monarch of long ago had twin sons. There was some confusion about
which one was born first. As they grew to young manhood, the king
sought a fair way to designate one of them as crown prince. All who
knew the young men thought them equal in intelligence, wit,
personal charm, health, and physical strength. Being a keenly
observant king, he thought he detected a trait in one which was not
shared by the other.

Calling them to his council chamber one day, he said, "My sons, the
day will come when one of you must succeed me as king. The burdens
of sovereignty are very heavy. To find out which of you is better
able to bear them cheerfully, I am sending you together to a far
corner of the kingdom. One of my advisors there will place equal
burdens on your shoulders. My crown will one day go to the one who
first returns bearing his burden like a king should."

In a spirit of friendly competition, the brothers set out together.
Soon they overtook an aged woman struggling under a burden that
seemed far too heavy for her frail body. One of the boys suggested
that they stop to help her. The other protested: "We have a burden
of our own to worry about. Let us be on our way."

The objector hurried on while the other stayed behind to give aid
to the aged woman. Along the road, from day to day, he found others
who also needed help. A blind man took him miles out of his way,
and a lame man slowed him to a cripple's walk.

Eventually he did reach his father's advisor, where he secured his
own burden and started home with it safely on his shoulders. When
he arrived at the palace, his brother met him at the gate, and
greeted him with dismay. He said, "I don't understand. I told our
father the burden was too heavy to carry. However did you do it?"

The future king replied thoughtfully, "I suppose when I helped
others carry their burdens, I found the strength to carry my own."

- Author Unknown

A Prayer for Lent

Lord, my walk in life must be with You, Your Holy Spirit is my guide and my protector. Help me to focus my eyes on You, to listen to Your word, to spend time with You daily, to draw on the power and strength only You can give. Only in You can I reach my goals, walk my journeys, nourish my loved ones and share Your love with them and others. Let me be the light of You shining for others so that they too can come to recognize Your great goodness.

March 7

Let Me help you through this day. The challenges you face are far too great for you to handle alone. You are keenly aware of your helplessness in the scheme of events you face. This awareness opens up a choice: to doggedly go it alone or to walk with Me in humble steps of dependence. Actually, this choice is continually before you, but difficulties highlight the decision-making process. So, consider it all joy whenever you are enveloped in various trials. These are gifts from Me, reminding you to rely on Me alone.

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.
—Psalm 63:7–8

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.
—James 1:2–3 amp – From Jesus Calling

Hi Gloria, Harlene, Bobbiesue, and all of our posters and readers. Hope you're having a good Sunday.

Harlene, Prayers for your knee and sciatica. It's ironic getting hurt trying to get healthy isn't it? Thanks for posting the birthdays.

Bobbiesue, I hope your vision is stable today. You don't have to answer here, but do you have diabetes by chance? My mom did, as does my DH, and both encountered vision problems at some point. I hope you don't, and there's a simple explanation for it.

Gloria, Safe travels for Linus. It's going to be a fun time for your sisters party. I'm glad you have all the details worked out, and Lori can drive everyone. I drink the Maxwell International coffee. I'm pretty sure there are .0000001 health benefits to it, but it tastes pretty good! lol BTW, kitty let me sleep until 5:30 today. That's almost noon to me! lol The time change has worked in my favor so far.........

I got to mass this morning, and just doing little things around the house. I looked through two magazines, and was amazed how little content was in them. I have no idea who sent one of them, but it comes every month. I'm ready for supper tonight, just need to cook the chicken later on. I made my homemade stuffing yesterday, and am so glad I took the time. It turned out very well, and I know DS will be surprised as it's a holiday recipe, and I can't think if I've ever made it another time.

The leg pain continues to stay away, for which I'm so grateful! I expect the nerve issues, and can manage them, but they didn't need any additional issues. It's surprised me lately that I've have much more energy than usual. I hope it sticks around so I can get back to more effective exercise again. Two dvd's I ordered will arrive this week.

Not much else to add, just making the most of this last day in my 50's. Making this transition to the 60's decade is really on my mind.... I'm excited, as well as sad that so much of my life is over. I plan to make the most of every day remaining though. I'll see you later, it's time for a break now. Hugs, pinky

I was supposed to go to church with a friend, but she did not pick me up and it was too late to go to my church. I will go next week on my own. She did not even call. I don't know what happened.

Blessings to all here. My grandkids have been here this weekend and that was nice. Good blessing. Have a good day.

Harlene - heating pad should be helpful for the knee - or ice? Just take good care of it, whatever your chiropractor suggests. Knees are so important! Sorry you sprained yours. Hey, you enjoy your coffee too!!! It's good for us!!!

Pinky - I used to like those international coffees - but aren't they pretty much sweet and lots of sugar? I like our plain coffee but when some are here that don't like it plain and would like it sweetened, instead of the flavored creamers, I have little bottles of stevia that is flavorered, this is what I have, vanilla bean, pomegranate, toffee, butter rum, gingerbread, and pumpkin spice. We use it to flavor our water too, when we want it a bit flavored. I just don't drink enough water, I know. But this stuff helps. So glad that leg pain continues to stay away!! No more side effects from the meds.

Bobbiesue - Sorry you didn't get to Mass this morning. Next time just go to St. Mary's. OK? Still wondering if you are still going to take in that bible study at the Catholic Church? Sure hope so, you'll learn a lot, and make good friends.
