Hello, TaxLady.

It means that the thread was closed by one of the moderators because people were arguing too much and words were getting nasty. So the mods close the thread to stop that and you can't post in that thread anymore once it's been locked.

Thank you Ms. NC Bandwagon. That explains it. I guess they do this instead of poofing? So that you can go back and read the arguing and nasty stuff. lol

This isn't anything new. In the past it was at the end of the thread and you became aware after you wasted time typing your response. I'm happy to see it by the thread title.

I think even the ones with the "Commenting closed" in the thread title also are removed eventually.

The moderation isn't always even around here, but at least the attempt is being made to shut down more of the obnoxious posts.

Now if posters would stop blaming others for "reporting" their posts with no proof - if your post was removed take a look at what you said instead of blaming some anonymous person for causing it. I know some innocent ones do get removed, but that's not the case usually.

I think many on this board are not very good debaters. Instead of debating a subject with their opinions, they attack the person instead of the subject. This is the first thing you learn NOT to do when debating. Usually people do this when they are not having success in the debate.

I think attacking people personally, calling them names and degrading them is why posts and threads are deleted.
