What do you think about the "new" QVC shipping charges?

Has anyone really considered QVC's new shipping rates & policy? For instance I purchased 2 pairs of shoes (didn't fit), $5.00 shipping each = $10.00. They shipped them together so I'm sure it didn't cost that. With their new shipping policy to return them no shipping charge is reimbursed and it cost $8.95 to ship them back. So there is now 18.95 invested in shipping, where otherwise it would have been only $8.95. Their return shipping rates, if using their return sticker, didn't change. They are making a fortune in shipping costs. Lesson to learn, unless it's something you really want and going to keep....don't buy because their shipping is no longer worth it!!

They think they have us hoodwinked by the new "lower shipping", but it isn't a great deal in every instance.

No longer do you get the second third, etc. shipped at half, and those returns are going to be a killer. I think after people pony up all that shipping lost for returning (not damaged/ defective, because that will still be free), orders will fall off some. I'm sure many people are going to order, just not like the item, and then damage it to get free shipping both ways. Q will be getting back a lot of 'damaged' items, and that isn't going to help their bottom line any.

Not only that, they raised the prices by a few dollars on items to make up for the difference.

While $3 shipping sounds like a deal, it's not in the long run.

It's a very good deal on jewelry, for which the shipping costs have been outrageous.

Make no mistake, QVC is benefitting from this, not consumers.

You've already pointed out how much it will cost to send something back now that they aren't refunding original s/h. It was also pointed out the raise in prices to cover the decrease in s/h charges.

There is also the fact that they will no longer do the 1/2 off the s/h of subsequent orders of the same item ordered at the same time.

And for anything not falling under the $5.00 or $3.00 s/h charge, the shipping is so overinflated, it's laughable. $12.00 to ship a handbag? $12.00 to ship a pair of boots? That's absurd.

The new shipping policy has made me think twice, and I haven't ordered anything since it went into effect. Paying return shipping is bad enough, especially when quality is frequently questionable. But, not getting the original shipping back is a deal breaker for me. It was the one perk that kept me coming back to QVC for certain items.

The last thing I ordered were those Scrub Daddys. I haven't ordered since and I will shop elsewhere from now on. They have gone too far IMO.

I think it's a sham--they're very likely factoring the S&H charges into the item price.

I agree with this. And I can prove it. I looked back and various items I purchased the past 2 yrs. have mostly gone up considerably!

Also I never buy food on Q but they have been having free shipping on food. Yeah well it might be free shipping but those prices on food have gone up sky high because I remember seeing them when I watched Q more.
