No gift is so precious as love. Gratefully trust God and give Him your love.
Lord, I give You my heart.

Scripture for the day:

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has
to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in
love." 1 John 4:18

Meditation for the day:

Love and fear cannot dwell together. By their very natures, they cannot
exist side by side. Fear is a very strong force. And therefore a weak
and vacillating love can soon be routed by fear. But a strong love, a
love that trusts in God, is sure eventually to conquer fear. The only
sure way to dispel fear is to have the love of God more and more in our
hearts and souls.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that love will drive out the fear in my life. I pray that my
fear will flee before the power of the love of God.

Greetings all! Back from our trip to see my sister, Deil, and it was
great!! She made some taco soup for lunch and it was delicious! We had a
nice visit, and also called Sister LaDonna on my cell with the speaker on so
we all could talk to her. She is getting much better and she sounded
great!! She sure looks forward to our calls. She says it's due to all our
prayers that she is feeling much better now! Thanks to you all for praying
for her!! Do continue as she's still got a long road ahead of her for
complete healing. It's snow there at Deil's, an hour and a half away, but
here ours has melted. Roads were good though. I'm very tired tonight - but
it was a great day!

The U in Jesus

Before U were thought of or time had begun,

God even stuck U in the name of His Son.

And each time U pray, you'll see it's true

You can't spell out JesUs and not include U.

You're a pretty big part of His wonderful name,

For U, He was born; that's why He came.

And His great love for U is the reason He died.

It even takes U to spell crUcified.

Isn't it thrilling and splendidly grand

He rose from the dead, with U in His plan.

The stones split away, the gold trUmpet blew,

and this word resUrrection is spelled with a U.

When JesUs left earth at His upward ascension,

He felt there was one thing He just had to mention.

"Go into the world and tell them it's true

That I love them all -

Just like I love U".

So many great people are spelled with a U,

Don't they have a right to know JesUs too?

It all depends now on what U will do,

He'd like them to know

But it all starts with U.

Santa's Christmas Prayer

The sleigh was packed,
the reindeer were fed,
But Santa still knelt
by the side of the bed.

"Dear Father," he prayed
"Be with me tonight.
There's much work to do
and my schedule is tight.

I must jump in my sleigh
and streak through the sky,
Knowing full well
that a reindeer can't fly.

I will visit each household
before the first light,
I'll cover the world
and all in one night.

With sleigh bells a-ringing,
I'll land on each roof,
Amid the soft clatter
of each little hoof.

To get in the house
is the difficult part,
So I'll slide down the chimney
of each little heart.

My sack will hold toys
to grant all their wishes.
The supply will be endless
like the loaves and the fishes.

I will fill all the stockings
and not leave a track.
I'll eat every cookie
that's left for my snack.

I can do all these things Lord,
only through You,
I just need your blessing,
then it's easy to do.

All this is to honor
the birth of the One,
That was sent to redeem us,
Your most Holy Son.

So to all of my friends,
lest Your glory I rob,
Please Lord, remind them,
who gave me this job."

“The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

A woman baked bread for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry
passerby.

She kept the extra bread on the window sill, for whosoever would take it
away.

Everyday, a hunchback came and took away the bread. Instead of expressing
gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way:

“The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

This went on, day after day. Everyday, the hunchback came, picked up the
bread and uttered the words:

“The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

The woman felt irritated. “Not a word of gratitude,” she said to herself…

“Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?”

One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him.

“I shall get rid of this hunchback,” she said. And what did she do?

She added poison to the bread she prepared for him!

As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled.

“What is this I am doing?” she said. Immediately, she threw the bread into
the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window sill.

As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the bread and muttered the words:

“The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in
the mind of the woman.

Everyday, as the woman placed the bread on the window sill, she offered a
prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For
many months, she had no news of him.. She prayed for his safe return. That
evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised
to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His
garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak.

As he saw his mother, he said, “Mom, it’s a miracle I'm here. While I was
but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but
just then an old hunchback passed by. I begged of him for a morsel of food,
and he was kind enough to give me a whole bread. As he gave it to me, he
said, “This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your
need is greater than mine!” “

As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale.

She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned bread
that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would
have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life!

It was then that she realized the significance of the words:

“The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

Do good and don't ever stop doing good, even if it's not appreciated at that
time.

Sandpaper

When you have to put up with mean people
Think of them as sandpaper.
They may scratch you,
Rub you the wrong way
But eventually...

YOU end up smooth & polished.

And the sandpaper...?
It´ll be worn out & ugly!

Makes you think, doesn´t it?

Never lose sight of who you are,
because you are the best thing
God ever created!
Embrace the gift.

Praying Through Exhaustion

Oh Lord, I am so tired. It seems like the lists of to-do's get longer each
day. Help me, dear Jesus. Let me feel your loving arms wrap me tightly in
the warm embrace of your endless love. Teach me to make choices about my
time, to remember what is important this season and to say "NO" whenever my
Yes would take me away from your peace. Fill me with patience, love and a
sense of humor. Remind me of your deep love for me and let the fire of that
love be something I can share with everyone around me.

Advent Prayer

God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome.
Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy,
so that we may share His wisdom and become one
with Him when He comes in glory,
for He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Good night - sweet dreams - Enjoy your Day of the Lord - Sunday with many blessings!
