    <description>&lt;P&gt;I volunteer at my local animal shelter and would just like to spread the word not to give an animal as a present unless you are absolutely sure the person wants and can take care of it.  If you are certain another idea is to just give a picture of it and then pick up the animal after the excitement of the holiday is over so it will be better for the pet to adjust.   I see so many "surrenders" of pets because people do not do their homework.  Thank you for listening.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
