Happy?

Are you truly happy with your life or just go with the flow? Sometimes I feel down and think about how things could have been different. You know, "if only I did this or that!" I'm quite content but sometimes you wonder.

I'm happy with my life and I have no regrets, and to be honest there isn't anything I wished I would have done that I haven't............but I think I have an edge on most..........my dad was my life lesson on............there is no guarantee on how long you've got on this planet.......don't let anything pass you by......don't bank on tomorrows, they may not be there..........you're responsible for your own happiness......he died when I was nine, but he also knew he had only a short time to teach a lifetime of life lessons in 7 short years.....they were all great lessons and I learned them at a very early age...........................................raven

I don't believe there is a person in the world that doesn't think ""what if?"" at some point in their life regarding some decisions. It is human nature.

I am happy in my life. Not 24/7 but for the most part I am happy. I don't think anyone can say they are ecstatic or happy all the time.

I have never been a person that dwelled on things or kept going over what I should have done. That doesn't mean I don't think about choices I could have made differently but it isn't something I spend a bunch of time on.

there are days when i am happy and there are days when i have to just "go with the flow." every day isnt perfect, but we make the BEST out of what it was.....and move on to the next day in a positive way. it is in no way perfect. i do try to be thankful for my children, my family, the roof over my head, the food on my table, and my health.....and that does make each day better.

I have become happier the older I am. I just don't give a fig anymore about what others think. That has made me take more chances to go out of my comfort zone. Last night I went to a home of a lady I met only once to play mahjong with a bunch of ladies I have never met and had a great time. Of course I was nervous but went with the ""fake it till you make it"" route. I wanted to cancel at the last minute but figure it was either have a bad night or sit in front of boring tv another night. I had a fantastic time with women I would have never met otherwise.

Honestly several years ago I was miserable. But I've totally changed my life. I'm 50 I'm back in college making a career change to become a registered nurse. I feel young again and I am happy as a clam and getting straight A's. Looking to start nursing school next winter.

Happy? Sometimes. Grateful? Always. In the scheme of things I don't have anything to be unhappy about. Would I change the way my life has gone if I could, yes, yes I would. I made a lot of decisions when I was young and naïve. Although many good things have happened as a result of my young, dumb decisions, Had I had wisdom, my life would be much different now. I live with my early decisions. If I were to do my own thing at this stage of life, a lot of people would be hurt.

I went back to college in my 30's. OMG, I have no idea how I did it!

I've had those miserable stages too when you think the drama will never end. It does.

I'm happier now than I have ever been. That doesn't mean I don't want to bang my head on a wall some days. Regrets? Don't believe I have any. Pretty much lived life on my own terms.

Still have several things I want to accomplish which keeps me going on those bad days.

I did this at age 57. I, too, got "a's" and graduated from college at age 61. Absolutely one of the best things I've done. Now, I go to grade schools to give a 6 week (one hour per week) program. Congratulations to you

I think of myself as pretty well blessed and always moving forward. Late in life a spiritual life helps.

No, I never say "I wish I had done this or that." When I reflect back honestly, I see that every decision I made was made with the best info and consideration I had at the time. Would I do differently now? In some cases, yes. But that's me talking NOW, after the benefit of knowledge and life experience that I've gained since, which I didn't have THEN. So, no, I'm very happy with where I am. Do I have goals? Yes. I don't want to be stagnant.

I am not a person that looks back and says if only I would have? For me it is living for the day, and there are very few days when I am not happy!

No what ifs, if only, and regrets. Yeah I did some dumb things but that is what made me who I am today. If even one thing were different then the life I am so happy with today would probably be so much different.

Some days I am and some days I am not. I guess it would depend on how you describe happy. I would say I am more content the older I get.
