Just heard on Inside Edition that she'tdoesn't want her baby that a surrogate had. And doesn't have her name has mother.

Yes, this happened at least a year ago. Her husband and she are divorcing...he was using the child as a way to get child support out of her...at the same time her ex-husband was trying to get full custody of she and his child and get child support as well as alimony if I recall correctly. The final papers had not been signed between she... her second husband and whomever they were going thru for the child...so she may have an out. Do not quote me exactly...but this is how I remember it. The two husbands were communicating & plotting their actions together as well... thinking 2 men going at her at the same time might influence the public if not a judge...I think?

eta: They did not use her eggs so this adds another layer to the whole mess.

Don't know any particulars about this baby but I think it may have been of a sperm from her husband but not her egg. I can see how this would have been a difficult decision when they split if the baby was his and not her's biologically. It may hot be as simple as it would seem. I think thar both husbands really wanted her to support them. What a mess.

Why did she pretend to want a child in the first place! Just because her marriage fell apart means she no longer wants to be the mother? She only wants to protect her money. Her marriage was a sham and she is a terrible person.

I am so disgusted with Sherri Shepherd right now. She made a decision to bring a child into this world and now she wants nothing to do with it?! The woman made MILLIONS on TV and she's going to let her child grow up on welfare? DISGUSTING. There is NO WAY NO HOW any additional information on this is going to change anything. She signed a CONTRACT and was so proud when she went on the Tom Joyner show to say she and Lamar had found a surrogate. Now, to let the surrogate mother be sued by California for child support?! Sherri is in for one heck of a backlash once the real details of this get out. And she deserves it.

Or, was he just freeloading off of Sherri all along because she was his gravy train. I don't know all of the details, and I am happy that Sherri is not out there airing all of her personal dirty laundry. But it sounds to me like her ex was in this for the money himself. He attitude seems to be since I am the "biological" father and Sherri is not the "biological mother (rubbing it in), I want custody because I will get lots and lots of child support. If there was a contract, then the courts will iron this out. If this was a sham all along, that will be uncovered as well.

Their marriage may have been a mess, but Sherri helped make the decision to bring this child into the world. We are talking about a little baby here who needs a mother -- a role that SHERRI agreed to and even contractually signed off on. She helped pick the donor egg and the surrogate mother. She is as bad as a deadbeat dad and I hold her to the same standard. The woman has more than enough resources -- to back out on being a mother is disgusting and inexcusable no matter what her stupid marital issues.

It's not her baby, they didn't use her eggs. She has no genetic or legal ties to her forner husband's child. None at all.

Sherri signed a contract with the surrogate mother via an agency, Sherri personally selected the egg donor and was there in the beginning of the pregnancy meeting with the surrogate mother and being an involved party. Sorry, she decided to be a mother. You can't just back out because you don't feel like it. That little baby needs a mother. I am feeling for the baby here. Why should he (baby) suffer, have no mother and be on welfare because his millionaire mother decided she didn't want him afterall. She should've been SURE when she signed on for all this and worked out the contracts.

She's going on the angle that Lamar defrauded her? C'mon.... Sherri isn't that stupid. Why did she continue on with the baby creation if she was unsure about her marriage? they should've waited on the baby, but they didn't and now THEY BOTH have to deal with it and be the best parents they can be to the little baby. He shouldn't become the taxpayers baby.
