Do you listen to Barry Burbank, SnowPink? He is the best New England meterologist in a very long time. I believe he will be giving the weather tonight on WBZ-4 and will be listening. When everyone gets it wrong, Barry Burbank gets it right. He should be their chief meteorologist.

Good luck everyone in the Northeast. I'm in Phoenix with the Super Bowl coming this week. Winter is our lovely time of year. They are ""complaining"" here because it might be rainy and in the low 70's for next weekend. Whoever comes here will be glad of that compared to what they are leaving behind.

I grew up in the Midwest and know how violent winter storms can be. We used to get drifts in our driveway up to the roof.

We didn't have 3 days to stock up....as of last night this wasn't happening. We were only supposed to get about 6 inches of snow.

I love huge snowstorms, as long as everyone is safe. I'm always skeptical when the weather guys whip everyone into a frenzy, because more often than not, these huge storms turn out to be a dud and we end up with just a dusting. It's the ones that sneak up on us that catch everyone off guard that are the really bad ones. I do hope that we get a big one but I refuse to panic. I already have enough food in the house to last me until spring, LOL.

Not like I'm bragging or anything - we had seven feet of snow in our blizzard back in November...

And for PA. Just loaded up on stuff after the movies. (even though we had stuff) Because its to snow tonight, tomorrow, Tuesday. Thursday, Friday. Mon into Tues is the worst, over a foot maybe 2 they don't know yet models vary.

DIL and grandkids are all down with the flu and live out in the country. Son just moved out ahead of them to his new job in California, so we're moving up here tomorrow to ride out this storm.

Last big storm a couple of years ago, they lost power for over a week and rescue couldn't get in (they were also sick and my GD needs a nebulizer) because they couldn't get plowed out. We did go down and got them all out but it was a bit traumatizing. Not letting that happen again.

Luckily my Mom lives a block away in our complex and is in FL for the winter so we'll set them up in her place. Love them but don't want the flu. Even if we lose power it usually isn't for long because all our utilities are underground. The kids are looking forward to the storm this time even with the flu because it will be a "sleep-over".

The Weather Channel's been hinting at this for quite a while now. In fact, about a week ago, one of the meteorologists pointed to a storm system in SIBERIA that was going to be a big problem for the East Coast early this coming week. He was right.

It's been a roller coaster Winter season so far for you guys in that area, and this storm looks like it could be a record breaker! Hang in there!

Don't you get a big snowstorm every year? You'd think people would prepare. We get 2 ft easily at a time & the year before I moved here they got 4-5' & lost power for 10 days. You pick where you live.

Yes we do and I agree. Even without notice we could live for a week with the food we have on hand. Never understood the frantic stocking up of supplies. It's not like we will be isolated for a week. That being said I hope everyone stays smart and safe.
